And the Evil Empire strikes again. This really does sound like an Activision move... their lawyers must be paid in accordance to how many C&D's or Copyright Infringement Notices they get out...
Sucks to be Blizzard though. They get the pleasure of taking the heat for this, and this undermines the whole modding motiff that Blizzard has embraced by releasing such powerful modding tools.
I'm all for Willy Beamish being remade/rebooted.... as long as it's NOT done by the studio that has churned out the recent Leisure Suit Larry games (Magna Cum Laude and Box Office Bust).
Ah.... my favorite Halo memory was when I was working at Game Crazy... we had a midnight release for Halo Wars and the manager and I brought in our big screen LCD TV's and held a Halo 3 tournament. Everyone had a lot of fun and we even got Papa Johns to sponsor the tournament and provide free pizza to the guests.
Worst bug I ever encountered would be in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2. Your playing a map as an Allied power and you have an army comprised of infantry units and chrono-troopers. If you select all of the units and target a building to be attacked, all of the units will make their way over to the targeted building.
This is where it gets interesting. The chrono-troopers will instantly teleport to the building and begin attacking it while the infantry units march their way to the target. If the chrono-troopers finish phasing the building out of the space-time continuum (which is their standard attack) BEFORE the infantry units reach the target, the game will immediately crash.
This bug is easy to pull off by targeting a building that is on the opposite side of the map from where the infantry units are currently located. Needless to say, it's quite a doozy. **lol**
My guess is we'll see it around December 2011.... just in time for the Christmas 2011 rush. That will allow Blizzard to bolster their 2011 year-end profits (which goes from March 2011 to March 2012)... and give a great start to the 2012 year, which will probably culminate in the release of Diablo 3 in December 2012.
