Boston transit system bans M rated game ads

Dec 14th 2006 7:48AM (Joystiq)
The point of taking the ad down was so minors weren't exposed to things that are for adults only. The point of this article is that..... Alcohol is for adults only.... If videogames turn kids violent and ads are going to turn them violent, then alcohol can turn kids into alcoholics and drunks....

The writer is not saying that all people who drink are alcoholics. God some people really need to take reading comprehension classes!!!!!

Dragon Quest IX announced as DS exclusive

Dec 12th 2006 7:42AM (Joystiq)
"Dragon Quest IX would be released exclusively on the most touchy-feely of portable systems. "

seriously though, this is the only choice Squeenix has right now to sell copies. Developers always go with whatever system has the highest user base, and if this game is coming out any time in the next year, that would be DS. Not only is there a high user base, but it is also easy to develop for, which square enix is finding is not the case with the PS3. And 360 is not an option. As a company it would be murder to put one of the most popular games in japan on the least popular systems in japan. Now if the US supported Dragon Quest as much as Japan did.... then that might be another story...

The most painful looking Wii injury to date

Great,
"It happened while playing Wii" has become the new, "I fell down the stairs!"

New Zelda for Wii "deep in development," Phantom Hourglass delayed

Dec 11th 2006 1:54PM (Joystiq)
Steven,
don't you know that most launch games were for previous systems.

Then you have the 360 launch who's 2 big hits, PD0 and Kameo were not only Gamecube LAUNCH TITLES!!! but titles that were moved over from the N64 originally....

They should have really lowered the reviews.

Lowering a games score because it is bad or doesn't meet the standards of the system it is on is bad. Lowering a Wii game score because the graphics aren't up there with PS3 or 360 is a whole different story (which is what Gamespot did). Considering that Zelda as of right now is one of the best looking Wii games and the best game on the Wii, it deserves its score!

Ad shows danger of angering Tekken players

bm. My comment was meant as a joke. It relates to earlier PSP ads that had to be taken off the market in the past months due to racial content, One of the last ones being the White PSP ads when a white girl was getting her ass kicked by a black girl.

In all honesty, I like this commercial. It feels like Nintendo's commercials oddly enough. Kind of like the Super Smash Bros, and Animal Crossing commercials that people liked (not the horrible Zelda Rap 80's crap! or the crappy early gamecube commercials!). And if they aren't going to show much gameplay, this route is better than the FF ad route, where they make it look like gameplay is being shown, but it isn't actual gameplay footage.
