I just love that the idea you could be intimate with another SPECIES isn't troubling, but if you and the species share the same gender (or anything resembling it) suddenly it is.
I never thought this would bother me, but the frequency of wipes has completely killed my Diablo 3 beta participation. I think in a beta with a greater level cap -or- more freedom of movement, this wouldn't be a problem; and goodness knows I've made hundreds of D1 and D2 characters to cross the same few patches of ground.
But in a thoroughly loot-based game, knowing that every great drop is only there for a few days has me waiting for the full version to do any clicky-clicky.
I once drew a devil face on my forehead, dressed in a fuzzy black tophat, black terrycloth robe, huge black jnco pants, a black Jonny the Homicidal Maniac t-shirt, and and a chain and leather belt hung with a dozen gem-eyed skeleton keychains...and then I gyrated vigorously.
Believe me, you don't want this. You don't get the satisfying sense of character-building or progression. The interaction with NPCs is ridiculously unengaging, and the plot is nonexistent.
If I could un-purchase it, I would, and I haven't missed an Action Rpg release for over a decade.
I hate to see anyone shuttered, and I especially hate not supporting a DnD game -or- a Dark Alliance-style rpg.
But this game was a -hack job-. With all the disappointed reviews, I picked it up when it went on sale hoping it'd still be some mindless fun, or possibly even easier for someone who spends a lot of time playing the DnD ruleset. But it doesn't even follow any internal logic, and it's possible to jam your character up on a build doing nothing more than buying the abilities presented to you.
