Am I the only one who saw that 27% return on annual investment?! Consider that if you get a 10% return on the US stock exchange you have a solid year. Even Bernie Madoff couldn't get away with saying he'd give you a 27% return. Crazy.
This isn't the first time I've heard people talk about GW 2 character creation is that ridiculous glowing term aura, I coudn't understand it then when I didn't know the fool details and I still cant' comprehend what is so great about it now. Am I suddenly going to play the same character over and over again because of those character choices?! One of them is about an item you wear for pete's sake!
I thought the game looked ready to release 6 months ago. Come on now Arena don't overhype what is to be frank looking weak now is the time to be releasing it and you don't even have a date! I am going to buy GW 2 because its free to play and it looks pretty decent. Other than that... meh.
If you're going to stare at a character for a thousand hours, females are just more fun. Plus video games are escapist at the end of the day, why be what you are in real life? Can't say I care about the 'huge' toons so much. After all they fit an archetype just as much as the smaller, slimmer toons do.
I call BS. Just because they don't use DRM which rarely works for very long against pirates doesn't mean they're not affected incredibly detrimentally. Millions perhaps hundreds of millions of dollars they lost in revenue from not having their game pirated on the PC version.
I can't understand PC gamers, you whine about DRM and then are silent as the companies you love lose hundreds of millions of dollars if not billions to piracy. You are single-handedly killing your own industry and then you have the balls to whine about crappy PC ports. I'm sorry did PC games stop being a business? As long as PC game companies can make more money on consoles without losing a large percentage to piracy you'll always be second string.
I think this game will be hugely niche. I like it alot but people lie. They don't really like open world games and they like hand holding, at least so they can get to endgame as fast as possible. And nothing, not the quest system nor the crafting seemed to be big on hand holding.
I love this game. Tera, TOR, GW 2, all look amazing or play incredible but this game. From the open world classless system, to the rich modern supernatural lore, I am sold.
The only really troubling thing is Funcom has a track record that concerns me. En Masse is rather young, but Arena Net and Bioware have long histories. Funcom maybe the launch of Conan and Anarchy aren't exactly bright shining examples of sturdy launches.
I'm sorry in in my twenties but all this Facebook-twittering-apple can have my babies-noise is in one ear out the other. I watched CSI the other day and now I see there's something called Trending. Bah, some more junk with people far too self absorbed about their lives and the lives of others. Just read the news about some kid webcaming his gay roommate who then committed suicide. The internet seems to be a similar phenomenon as being drunk; it's gives people a false sense of invincibility.
Yes they are, lets face it even the teenagers and the old men have washboard abs, the old guy is jumping off planes and kicking backside while holding his beard. Look I know we all want to be liberal and progressive and its the big in thing, but take a look at the Greek statues, our ideals of men and woman haven't changed in thousands of years. I'm not trying to say that somehow these woman are even close to the average of any western country but neither are the men.
Unless both of the sexes are middle aged and overweight neither parties look anywhere near the average for any country buying this game. If we wanted realistic the fighters would get tired after ten seconds in the first round. It's a video game! The woman are tall and short, smaller and bigger all within the range of our ideals of beauty just like the men.
The video looked realistic, other than muscle mass I went to high school with woman who looked like that. I can't see why the author goes out of his way to say almost. Almost what?
I've never understood gaming writers fascination with the way woman realistically look or don't look. We all want the characters we play, male or female, to look beautiful and that's all. Most men don't look like anyone in DOA, but no one says a peep about that. Of course not it's a non issue. Move on people, move on.
