the game my first wii will be bundled with an extra controller for 4800 yen in japan which equals $40, so it will most likely be available in the us for about $50 with other games similar to wii sports and another controller. I think this might make the fact that you have to purchase a second controller a little more pallatable.

I have seen videos of Wii Hockey (looks like air hockey) on other sights as well as duck hunt which would also fit in well with wii sports, so i would not be surprised if they were included. also has anyone heard about a us version of the "Wii Play" game which seems like wii sports that was anounced for japan?
