I guess you are right because $30 isn't much at all. It even came free when you spent $60 on ODST. So if your a big fan of the Halo series and bought both you got off cheap.
Sorry, your point is valid, you example is lacking.
Gezus, $15 wasn't testing any boundaries it was just making it obvious that gamers are spending a lot on DLC. CoD:WaW and Halo 3 released 10 maps for $30, which comes out to $15 a map pack. Bungie even made you buy them again with ODST. GTA VI gave us 2 $20 DLC that sold well. I am sure there are many other examples too, just need to do the math and add up all of the DLC that games are getting. So it wasn't anything new, it just sold more than the rest.
If this DLC really turns you off so much go play another game where the company is pretending to give you a better deal. Wait, BF:BC2 gave us free DLC! I own it and got it free, so that is awesome.. wait a sec, when I downloaded the new DLC it took me less than a second, oh snap, that DLC was on the disc! My point is, even EA/DICE gave us a load of bull that we were getting "free" DLC, they just wanted to make it seem free and/or make it so EA/DICE makes money off of used game buyers. I am sure EA/DICE will stop giving "free" dlc eventually when they run out of DLC that is already on the disc we spent $60 for.
I did a bit of research on SOME of the DLC prices: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed -- $30+ Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice -- $50 Resident Evil 5 -- $15 L4D 1&2 -- $15 Fable 2 -- $15+ Borderlands -- $25 GoW2 -- $20+ Dante's Inferno -- $20+ Fallout 3 -- $50 Rock Band/Guitar Hero -- Tons~ --- I have a friend that spent $800+ dollars on Rock Band (games, DLC, etc)
Even if you say "MW2's DLC is different from these" I will say BS, why? Simple, size of DLC doesn't matter, it is playtime. A map might be small in size, but MW2 players will play them over and over, making the DLC maps just as valuable, play-time wise, as any other DLC. Whether or not you like the DLC is preference not value.
Anyway, we are paying out of the ass for DLC, so MW2 really just spelled it out for us. Don't get mad at them just cause you never looked at your credit card bill to realize that you are spending that much, if not close to, or even more than that on other DLC.
So this analyst is dumb.. get a new job cause you suck at your current one.
If they give me 7 maps I'll pay $20. Well, unless they are all ports from CoD4. I mean, 2 ports didn't really bother me since they are 2 of my favorite maps.
Why don't you flame people that bought all 3 Halo 3 map packs. Lets look at the $15 price of MW2 maps.. 5 Maps for $15. Halo 3 released 10 maps for $30, that comes out to 5 maps for $15. Plus they banned from the playlists for not buying. Lets also look at the people that bought both the Map Packs and ODST. Not only did they spend $30 on 10 maps, they also bought the maps again.
So who should we blame the $15 price tag? Well, Halo 3 started it, so blame Bungie.
BTW, I am not complaining about the price, even if I do think it is overpriced, just not so much so that it should be getting this much attention. What I am doing is making a point that people complaining are only complaining because the price is clearly $15 and just because it is MW2. Haters will be haters.
They need to fix commando vs a riot shield bug. It has been done to me and several others a ton of times. Someone with commando sees just a tiny part of your body and he can knife you in the front cause he auto locks onto you. If you get killed by a commando user and you have a riot shield watch the kill cam, it is ridiculous. By the time the knife lunges into you it hits 100% shield, but it still kills you.
You know.. IW could offer some kind of solution for mods and custom maps. They just need to add a way to add custom game types under their multiplayer options. Meeting up with friends is easy too, they will probably create some kind of login system so people can meet and party up. As for the community issue, well, it is easy to meet and form a community through a console, so why is it hard for PC users to do the same thing? I do admit, that when I played a lot of PC games it was easier to bond with the people I played on the same servers with, but the money issue made the people who could pay more for the dedi servers have more power over everyone in the clan, which lead to arguments and clan splits. Having both options can be good, but that means the overall MW2 PC community will be split. Overall, this is a good thing. It can change the way PC gaming is done. Not only can everyone can play any game type for free, but you can meet and play more people than just hopping onto the same servers.
If you are complaining, then you just don't see how the whole community could benefit from this. Most likely, you are probably the same people that kick other players off of your server just because you are getting your ass handed to you by someone you don't know.
