i loved MW1 single player and greatly liked it's multiplayer. WAW single player was meh, but it's multiplayer imho was a huge improvement over MW1's (larger maps, less grenade spam, tonnes of foliage & debris to hide around, zombies).
Couple months ago... IW#?: fukyea MW2 for PC will have all the stuff multiplayer PC shooters normally have
Few weeks ago... IW#2: shiet, dun think we can stuff all the PC features in time for launch... IW#1: just do a direct port, we can patch it up later a coupla months down the road and put in dedicated servers and increased player capacity and stuff. we also get to test our spanking new matchmaking servers and tech. IW#2: awright. but what about Bobby? he's been breathing down our necks to increase console sales... IW#1: we hike up the price by 10 bux for pc. weak/dumb pc gamers will cave in to the pressure and buy MW2 for the consoles and increase their sales. IW#2: hmmm, ok. but how are we gonna handle the bad press? IW#1: easy, we release the news bit by bit, and not dump everything all at once. helps to dampen the negative effects. plus, we'll put up interviews featuring some of our shitty colleagues to absorb the hate, be a face for gamers to agro, and be our scapegoats. IW#2: good idea, put Mackey up in that panel. i hate him, he gives the shittiest excuses for coming in late. IW#1: so this is the game plan: 1. release for consoles, rake in cash, get glorified by console users. 2. update MW2 pc 6 months down the road, pull back the price tag to 50, which also gives us a reason to maintain normal price range after 6 months 3. we sack the interview panel, enjoy the witch hunt, get reduced hate by pcgamers, and we get rid our shitty developers and producers that made our pc port late 4. get praised by boycotters and petitioners, pc gamers buy MW2 for PC, we rake in the stupendous amounts of moolah even after 6 months since launch (great for our portfolio, yaknow?)
