Soul Calibur for iOS arrives Jan. 19

Thanks for a little bit of backup. As to the others, I don't know where you get moving backwards from virtual buttons, more like sideways. It allows you to have a very portable device that also does gaming well. I am not saying every instance is perfect, but it has gotten much better. I'd still like to see a 7" iPad, because I think it would give a perfect compromise between viewing area and virtual button position for core gaming. I have never had any use for a portable dedicated solely to gaming, so the iPod is perfect for me in that regard. Plus, I don't judge a game by it's length or cutting edge graphics, but by how much fun I have playing it. I've never run out of fun games to play on my iPod and the price is usually not a barrier for entry.

Everytime I hear it I think back to the dawn of analog sticks and how my friends couldn't stand them and said they prefered the d-pad. Adapt or get left behind, because the eye hand coordination of your average gamer should easily be able to adjust to virtual buttons. They exist right in front of your face!

Typed on my iPod (using virtual buttons;)

That's so dumb because...blah, blah, blah...how are you even supposed to...blah, blah, blah...no buttons.

DICE promises vigilance against Battlefield 3 cheaters

@HisOmniscience
No, I know a bad sniper when I play as one;) And I'd rule out bad luck because it happened multiple times in the same match. I am more than happy to legitimately get my but kicked, in fact I often find it amusing, but I call BS on certain activities.

DICE promises vigilance against Battlefield 3 cheaters

Snipers head shotting me immediately as I spawn on a running squad mate, people one shot killing me at long range with medium range weapons that have nothing but a holo or a rds on them. Maybe they are just extremely gifted, but I smell something foul in the air. (Note, this is on 360, so we aren't talking about the simple swipe of a mouse).

Gaikai coming to LG TVs, playable OnLive coming to GoogleTVs

Jan 11th 2012 5:57PM (Joystiq)
As long as Gaikai adds support to existing LG Cinema TVs, I might be game. And don't mistake one product line, for another. I hate LG's cell phones, but I LOVE my Cinema 3D tv. And seriously, the OnLive lag argument has gotten old. Most LCD's create more lag than OnLive.

Editorial: I love Super Crate Box and I hate virtual buttons

Jan 10th 2012 1:15PM (Joystiq)
The virtual button conversation has officially become cliche and boring. Me and many other people have absolutely no issue with virtual buttons when they are well implemented. Maybe my thumbs are just smaller, I don't know. If you want to keep gaming on DS or PSP/Vita, they are still there for you and that's perfectly fine. For me, though, portable gaming was never interesting until iOS. So, get over it.

Battlefield 3 soliciting feedback for gun attachment tweaks via Reddit thread

I'd like the ability to hot swap up to three scope attachments.

Big discounts on EA games, DLC on Xbox Live this week

I wish they'd discount Microbot, I'd really like to play it.

Best of the Rest: Ben's picks for 2011

We shouldn't have to debate the merits of Battlefield as a full package. Those of us who play it know that the single player disc is provided as a drink coaster. It is by far the tightest and most robust multiplayer experience available for a console to date. TF2 is also barely in the category as Battlefield and obviously shines more on PC than consoles. My only hope for BF3 in the future is that Dice gets a little more liberal with the ban hammer. That, and 100 extra tickets for Caspien Border, please.
