I have one and I'll offer it up for the low low price of $3499.

Windows 7 Media Center coming to embedded devices

Apr 28th 2010 4:29AM (Engadget)
The most important thing on the remote for Windows Media Center is a Ctrl+Alt+Del button. Too bad none of the remotes come with it, but it does need it. I've been using WMC for years and I can assure all of you it is not as stable as a DVR. It's Windows after all, so you can expect crashes, freezes, and random loss of audio all of which are repaired by a reboot.

I hate to say it but it's been my experience.

I never thought I would say this so soon (I thought it would be 2011 or 2012) but this just shits on the iPhone. This is the beginning of the decline of the iPhone already. The iPhone was great as an introduction to the modern smartphone UI but I guess 3.0 was its zenith. I was expecting maybe 4.0 or 5.0 to be the zenith.

Apple's 4th-generation iPhone revealed

This is a viral leak. OS 4.0 isn't that great of a difference. This is the year of the appearance upgrade and I must say that looking at it I am more inclined to get it than I was before.

Logitech Squeezebox Touch review

Yes this is better than any computer software player or other such "solution", but it isn't perfect either. It has to be used with a finicky little "server" program that isn't the most reliable. What it does offer is the most customization with plug-ins like iPeng and Trackstat which no other product offers. Those plug-ins make the product.

However if you just need to play some music reliably in any room then I'd say iTunes + airport express + iPod touch is the cheaper, simpler, more reliable option.

I run both and keep iTunes as a backup for when the SBS server decides to act wierd. That way I'm always covered.

@Bahumbug It's not the 3GS that was important. OS 3.0 was the first iPhone OS to combine a competitive feature set with the rock stable operation that began with 2.21. It was the first time the iPhone became worthy. To me it was the milestone that made the iPhone come of age.

This time don't expect much from the hardware or even the software. It's an improvement but OS 3.0 was what changed the iPhone into something that was worth switching to. Also the 3GS processor was what made the resource intensive iPhone OS usable. Going forward we will see increases in speed but really it's into diminishing returns territory now.

@Ruthless I don't think so. The Pre's UI is better designed than the iPhone's. I am an iPhone user but I think my friend's Pre is a better designed UI. I just refuse to go CDMA.

Now Palm better release a new model this year and if they do I doubt you'll jump to an iPhone. The Pre is far more ergonomic in terms of UI in that your finger never leaves the bottom of the device for anything. Contrast that with the iPhone UI where you have to stretch your finger to the top left and top right corners of the screen for navigation.

Palm really thought through how one's finger movements are optimized in actual use of the device. I think they did a better job than Apple. The gesture system is excellent.

Cool whatever so it caught up to the Palm Pre. In fact the Palm Pre lets you hack on ANY site or resource in their universal search. Also does this finally search the BODY of e-mail messages? It's about time.
