Right. You call me a troll, but agree that the game "sucks balls" for solo players.
And no, I'm not lying. Have they revamped the tutorial since last summer? Because that one was barely enough to get the basics down, then you're dumped into the sandbox with no direction. You're left with trying to find a corp, and that's it.
@Deliverator There's a difference between "personally unpalatable" and "inciting violence." Encouraging everyone to drive someone to suicide is the latter.
@Tanesis A 30 day ban is barely a slap on the wrist. They're condoning his behavior by letting him keep his account at ALL.
He was encouraging people to help drive an already emotionally damaged person to suicide. His account should be permanently revoked, not put on vacation.
@Jef Reahard Your article almost had me willing to toss in EVE again, despite my previous poor experience with the game. You just killed any interest I had in that by being the judgemental dick everyone expects EVE players to be. Way to go.
@wesmagyar "How is that any different then me rolling an alt? "
If you really have to ask that question, you have no idea what you're talking about. Rolling an alt is you with all your previous knowledge of the game. You still have the advantage over a total newbie, especially since the game itself goes to no lengths to educate newbies. It relies entirely on the community to be the tutorial.
And, unless you luck into a friendly, helpful corp, that tutorial is "keep dying until you join a successful corp."
@blackGeisha I think that's what really killed it for me. EVE doesn't really have a story. It's so sandboxy, you have to make your own. And I'd just rather write a short story in my own universe than tool around in EVE trying to find some RP.
