Japanese hardware sales, Mar. 19 - Mar. 25: olympic pairing edition

Mar 31st 2007 11:56AM (Joystiq)
The DS may even top the original GameBoy Success. It's funny how everyone complains about Japanese sales figures like they don't matter. FYI they definitely matter and it's starting to show across the whole world of the success of all the systems, especially Nintendo.

Over 14-years-old? Microsoft exec. says trade in your Wii

Mar 29th 2007 6:38PM (Joystiq)
Ok I gotta comment since this is crazy. First off I'm 25 and as you probably assume I have a 360, well your right, but I also have a WII, DS, and PSP. Calling the WII a kiddie system always makes me laugh, and yes it does appeal to a younger crowd. I guess that's why my two kids 7 and 3 both love playing it. I gotta admit the only thing my 360 gets love on is sport games, and GRAW2 for the time being. I get too bored with pressing buttons all the time. Isn't it time we get off our fat asses and interact with some games. Motion controls is waaaaay toooooo late we should've had this like 7 years ago. But I guess the game industry and technology is tooo far apart. Of course I'm not the one making the systems but come on if the next XBOX isn't more than just pressing buttons I'm done with it. I totally agree that Nintendo is the innovators and trust when I say it there will be more systems that come out that implement the whole motion controls better.

Face it people we should've been in virtual reality 7 years ago when this whole bull shit ass Y2K. To make a long story short I love my Nintendo and play it ten times more than any other thing. Does it need more good games well sure, will it happen, I surely hope so, but is the 360 the wave of the future, good question, I'm kinda wondering when were going to completely stop using our fingers to type on this keyboard.

Joseph Saulter: 'Why should I have to be a white man?'

Mar 8th 2007 7:37PM (Joystiq)
There's a whole lot of comments today that I absolutely can't agree with. But one thing I will say that is the truth is you can't sit around doing nothing for something to happen. I grew up in the inner city just like a lot of blacks did, and I will say it's pretty shity. Not because the city itself but the resources we had in school or the local grocery store. But at the same time you can't let that stop you. It's always going to be hard, no matter who you are, but a lot of people shouldn't say that blacks have it just as easy as whites, because we don't. Unless you are black were all living from the outside looking in, as the same that not everybody should always assume that every white person has it easy, because it's not true.

I think the statement made my Saulter was taking way out of proportion and most of you summed it up. What I'm trying to get at is we can all make it, but nobody is going to give it to us. I agree you should be hired by your skills and not because of your race. I look at myself for an example I'm a 25 yr old black male with two kids and a wife, and also the General Sales Manager of one of the biggest auto dealerships in Kansas City. No I didn't go to college even though I make more money than most people with a Bachelor Degree,I still plan to go. But the point is that opportunity wasn't given to me I had to earn it. I started as a porter when I was 18 and with hard work, dedication, and perserverance I made my way up to the top (not bragging just the facts). Now there were people at first that didn't like the adjustment, but here I am still doing it for the past 4 years, and one day plan to own my own dealership.

To sum it up my point, is everyone always going to be mistreated, but are you going to let that person or a group of persons have that much power over you. By not trying, you make yourself look bad fuck what the news is saying, paper, magazine or anything like that, try for yourself. Then When it gets tough you know you've completed the first step.

Were all beautiful people in this world, honor one another.

Konami brings Yoga Training to the DS

@StMadnes

You seem to say Thank God for the PSP as if you were insecure with your purchase. Hey man just because you decided to get a PSP and most of the games aren't talked about as much. Don't take it out on the many new number of games coming on the DS, just because developers rather spend there money the right way. Don't let me get started on how the DS OWNS the PSP.

Owner of seven failed Xbox 360s speaks out

Feb 23rd 2007 1:52PM (Joystiq)
Well I see it as luck of the draw. I bought my first XBOX 360 in Feb 2006 and it failed me 2 months after I bought it. Got it replaced, and then two months later failed me again, at this point I was so frustrated with everything after I got it fixed I sold it. I picked one up off the streets with two games two controllers for $125 (gotta love those street prices back in August, and never had an inch of a problem. In fact I love it more than my premium that failed me just wish I had kept my old harddrive. Oh well when they come out with a bigger HD I'll buy one then.

But I've also had friends who bought a 360 at launch and they had to replace there's also. But so far so good.

Fight Night producer ponders Wii version

Feb 12th 2007 7:55PM (Joystiq)
@miles foreman

I'll definitely agree with you on the response of the wiimote playing boxing. It's a lot more responsive than people give it credit for, even I had my frustrations. But once I realized it was more off how quick you were punching and if you got hit that it will only register certain movements at a time. In fact I didn't play boxing for almost a month because of that. Then once I realized it what was going on I was boxing and pulling combos I didn't realize could be pulled off when I wanted it too.

Some to end this if they make a Wii Fight Night it can be successful. The main obstacle they would have to overcome is the response time and movements from you the player and what the onscreen fighter is doing. It can be a damn really good game or a turn for the worst.

Rockstar reveals Manhunt 2 for the PS2, PSP, and ... Wii

Feb 7th 2007 11:22AM (Joystiq)
I'm convinced no matter what games come out for the Wii, there will always be people to bitch about it. Either way it goes if the game is a port or if it's seen as last gen, who really gives a shit as long as you have fun. There's so many people that want the Wii to fail so they'll use any excuse to make it seem as if it doesn't have a chance, same for the PS3 haters. Me personally I won't be getting a PS3 unless it drops to a $250 but at the same time why do you all devote your lives into hating a system? You guys remind me of some insecure people that are questioning your own purchase.
