Resistance 2 beta begins right now

Yeah, "right now" doesn't seem to apply for those who bought Qore 3 :|

Halo 2, Shadowrun made playable on XP

Jun 12th 2007 9:18AM (Joystiq)
This just doesn't add up. First, nobody has "made" these games XP compatible, they just hope to. They want me, an XP user, to buy a Vista game - which I won't be able to play - in the hopes of them being able to make it playable down the way? So for like $60 I get a shiny new ... box? Oh, is it a BOX? Sweet. That's what I wanted. A box.

I think it's a noble goal and all - because MS is essentially kicking XP gamers in the shins and groins here - but I'd rather pay upfront for a working piece of software than to put down money in the hopes that someday I get to install a game.

A million Zunes

Another thing to watch out for is Microsoft's tendency to post fuzzy numbers. They constantly refer to "units shipped to retailers" as 360 sales where most people would think "units purchased from retailers" would make more sense.

But one is clearly the larger figure.

MySpace blames Apple and QuickTime for hacked accounts

Dec 6th 2006 12:31PM (TUAW.com)
While kinda humorous, I guess, I wouldn't belittle any successful phishing exercise on such a mass scale. Any personal information could easily be used by malicious types to perform social engineering attacks on victims. How many people use their kid or dog's name as a password? How many people probably have such info plastered all over their MySpace page. An attack like this could make a follow-up attack much more likely to succeed.

Sony won't confirm Euro PS3 launch

Nov 10th 2006 2:16PM (Joystiq)
What's funny is that they fired they guy who hyped the Nintendo CPU production announcement and yet Blake just keeps pouring out crap like this. This is a complete non-story and just another excuse to bash Sony.

Sony criticizes Xbox 360 movie and TV downloads

Nov 7th 2006 2:16PM (Joystiq)
Sony's point is perfectly valid. All of their customers will have access to Blu-Ray. All of them will have a HD. It's a significant difference than offering HD content as an option or an HDD as an option.

Course, Blake couldn't even link to a perfectly valid survey which put the PS3 in a positive light, so this shouldn't surprise.

The real funny here has nothing to do with HDMI cables or Wifi options. It is watching Sony bitch and moan about anything doing with a Microsoft offering that they have yet to publically match. Especially one dealing with the delivery of any kind of television or movie content. I mean - this is SONY. They like - own a movie studio, you know?

So even Sony fanboys should be responding with a "fine, we have our hard drive - what will you let us do with it?"

Damn - it's not that the Sony bashing has gotten out of hand. It has just gotten so lazy.
