@killploki No, but it is a separate crime from the theft crimes. In the states it would be assault with a deadly weapon/battery. My guess is that these kids were probably charged with something similar to assault but then also for theft. Without being more familiar with Dutch Law or reading the actual opinion I can't say for sure, though.
@woz3323 I have a similar argument as well. When I was a kid I grew up in a single parent household and saved up money from babysitting to buy games. For the most part, all I could afford to buy was used. Now I am an adult with disposable income and I buy all my games new. What would have happened if I hadn't been able to buy games as a kid? Would I have outgrown the past time really young and stopped playing? It's impossible to say but I strongly suspect yes. Used game sales have their place, too.
@antv I believe the difference in reviews can be explained by the reviews being performed by different people. Griffin McElroy did the review for XIII. Maybe Jason had a different opinion on XIII than Griffin.
@blessrok Right, I apologize for not clarifying. What I meant by "read that" was the game insert they posted a picture at the head of this article of that says "Online Pass." Nowhere in that does it say this a bonus DLC thing to thank purchasers. Online Pass is associated with locking out content, like multiplayer mode or the Catwoman content of Arkham City.
@blessrok Well, its a blog so often blogs post before hearing back from everyone just because it can take so long to get a point clarified. They updated it and that is good journalism/blogging.
Plus, if you read that, it doesn't saying anything about this being free DLC. If I had read that I wouldn't have had any reason to think it wasn't like the Catwoman lockout in Arkham City.
@Roto13 That would be pretty interesting. When I worked at Gamestop people still bought a lot of the games requiring online passes used, we just had to tell them about the code. Most everyone would say, "Enh, not going to play online anyway." But of course, I only worked there through the holidays and I have no idea if it was more or less than usual.
