Sony slapped with two more class-action suits over Other OS removal

The reason a lawsuit is necessary is because Sony, as a business, is only concerned with its bottom line, and all of it's decisions will be based on how much money it will make or lose the company. Sony doesn't care about it's customers any more than is necessary to make them spend money on their product. This is the harsh reality of big businesses. With that said, these businesses have every right to make money, and to make as much profit as people are willing to pay them for their product. However they do not have the right to sell you a product that is intended to do certain things, and then to take any of those things away after you purchased it. It's no different than buying a new car with a CD player, then having the dealership come and take your CD player away saying "well, you didn't use it much anyway"

The problem comes in the fact that some people are using the "Other OS" feature to do things it was not intended to do, and Sony believes that their bottom line will be affected more by the piracy that it could cause than they would lose by removing the under used "Other OS" feature (The piracy on the PSP has cost Sony a lot of money). Sony of course try's to spin this by saying they are trying to prevent cheaters to protect you during online play. Although that may be a side effect of it, it isn't the reason they are doing it. Sony does have a right to protect its interest, just not at the expense of the people who purchased this feature. Sony needs to find another way to combat the piracy at this point. They told us a thousand time that the reason the PS3 was $700 was because it WAS a computer. Some people bought it with that in mind, some just bought a video game system, but all of them have the right to have what was advertised.
