What will iPad magazine covers look like?

Mar 27th 2010 5:19PM (TUAW.com)
Well, if it uses Motion, or some kind of mobile version of that, HTML5, or God forbid, FLASH, then I don't think size should be that much of an issue. I sincerely doubt these effects will be down to pre-rendered video content.

Make your Magic Mouse more comfortable and ergonomic

Mar 16th 2010 5:52PM (TUAW.com)
Perhaps it's also important to note that people with mice which provide a very comfortable positioning of the hand, tend to leave the hand stationary on the mouse when they're neither moving nor clicking it. This increases the likelihood of RSI or similar conditions to develop. (at least, from what I got from our anti-RSI course at university two years ago.)
Having gotten used to my Mighty Mouse over the past two months, I do feel that I take my hand off my mouse whenever it doesn't need to be there, to rest either in a more natural, comfortable position (retracted, as opposed to reaching out at my input device), or on the keyboard. I could imagine this might have been one of the reasons why Apple decided it ought to be shaped the way it is.

Apple releases another 27-inch iMac firmware update

Feb 2nd 2010 2:57AM (TUAW.com)
I stepped up from a Fujitsu Siemens laptop which I am convinced was actually designed and manufactured by mentally challenged gerbils. It had far more egregious design errors than any Apple flaw I've ever heard of, including (but not limited to) unbearably hot vents (which eventually caused the motherboard to fry, much like the Xbox 360's RRoD error) and dirt *behind* the plastic of the LCD screen.

Apple is not exceptional in its ability to make mistakes, but it is held to higher standards than other manufacturers. In my opinion, this is for good reasons, but it also means that when they do make mistakes like these, it is magnified that much more.

Apple releases another 27-inch iMac firmware update

I do. Currently have no issues apart from the irritating sound when you turn down the brightness. I'm debating whether I could wait until the furore (and shortage) has died down before I report it to my dealer.

Mac OS X 10.6.3 out to devs

Jan 25th 2010 10:54AM (TUAW.com)
I sure hope the update can fix my near-constant stream of Kernel Panics at bootup, and when recovering from Sleep. This is my first Mac, and the experience, though positive, has not been without its blemishes.

Apple event scheduled for Wednesday, January 27th, NOT the 26th

Sony Ericsson lets XPERIA X10 videos and press shots loose

I think the X1 did relatively well, though, despite its interface and hardware failings. At least, I still see them everywhere, where I live.

Microsoft's new retail hiring policy: shop at Apple

Sep 22nd 2009 2:11PM (TUAW.com)
Such tactics are to be expected from Microsoft, as it attempts to strongarm its way into yet another facet of the market. I'm not sure what kind of effect this would have on their staff and quality of service though, assuming that the story is true.
