Nov 24th 2009 4:02PM (Joystiq)Although I'd have appreciated if those three were properly implemented into the story.
Marvelous lost money on most of its Wii releases
Nov 21st 2009 11:36AM (Joystiq)- No marketing hype. How many people see these games being mass marketed to the public? While games like Wii sports Resort, Wii Fit Plus, EA Sports Active (And much of Ubisoft's shovelware crap) get the majority of the advertising and marketing, Other (quality) 3rd party titles do not get the attention they deserve. Instead they're just shoved aside and not given a damn as to whether they'll attract consumers or not, since the corporate bigwigs think of em as a kind of 'risk'...
- Even though its been heavily fought, I still feel many of the users who play such games as Marvelous' titles are all doing it via piracy. I've personally seen how much abuse the Wii has taken in terms of piracy, ever since The homebrew Channel surfaced. I don't say that Homebrew is bad. In fact I really love the homebrew scene! But sadly, it also plays host to a lot of software leading to piracy. So I guess a good chunk of gamers think that since the Wii can be so easily softmodded, they don't bother buying the games.
- Lastly, everyone knows who the majority of the demographics comprise of when we look at Wii users. Most of them are such that either want to play games for a quickie or more into those Fitness and simple-play based games. Many of the hardcore gamers felt Nintendo wasn't doing enough initially to satisy their cravings. Other 3rd party publishers followed as well. And now the company is in a mixed state as to how to counter-effect the problem. 2009 though was a great year, in terms of releases of games for the hardcore, hopefully I see that Nintendo strikes a good balance in terms of who to impress and when to impress.

Nov 21st 2009 11:01AM (Joystiq)Even though Twilight Princess was great, I did feel it was a little 'all too similiar'.
Aonuma-san should also try focusing more on the sound department as well. Like give the game a full blown out orchestral soundtrack (It did wonders for Super Mario Galaxy!). And I wouldn't mind voice-acting as well. (Except don't make it something like Super Mario Sunshine's!)

Famitsu: No More Heroes being ported to PS3 and Xbox 360 [update]
Nov 18th 2009 11:01AM (Joystiq)I have a feeling this game is going to score somewhere around the 7s, unless they rectify some of the problems the original game had, like the open worlds and the sidequests...
Face it, the PS3 / 360's have seen far better open-world games than this one...
Though, I still say that people should give this a try, for its witty dialogues, humour and the story.
