Here is why the original news post infuriates me: even if all his statements about the graphics are correct, that is not sufficient in any way whatsoever to say that the game "falls flat." None of his posts so far have contained any gameplay related comments aside from the fact that you have to *gasp* select a sign to read it and play the fishing game without significant visual clues. A more appropriate title for the original news post would have been "Zelda Graphics: Not as good as you might expect" or something. Did Zelda decline in importance or is somehow a complete disappointment because the graphics aren't as good as people were expecting? Of course not. The original title is completely ridiculous and inappropriate, and since Mr. Cole's intelligence doesn't seem to be lacking, can only be interpreted as a trolling attempt on his behalf to get cheap page views. Note the fact that Cole is only defending his opinion about the graphics, not about his misleading post title. Way to go Joystiq.
djork: Why does sex education = college in your book? I've never seen anything sex education related on my campus that I can remember. Most of that stuff goes into High Schools where a lot of people are completely ignorant and uninformed about sex.
#2 : They're also working on Supreme Commander right now which looks fantastic. I think they should never have rehashed Dungeon Siege like they have though. The original was good but did not deserve 3 new releases in the series.
The idea that the Top 3 titles on the list are ports is a bit ridiculous. None of the 3 appear on another console, as both Call of Duty 2 and Ghost Recon AW are completely different from the current genereation versions, as any informed person would know (the 360 version of Ghost Recon scored 90%, 50% on the PS2 because it's a completely dumped down version).
The fact that the games appear on both the 360 and the PC is not really a fault. Running in 720p on an HDTV, the games look just as good as they would on a high-end PC (in 1280*1024, no less).
So, you can buy a $400 console or a $1500+ PC. Gee, what do ya think 80% of the people are going to go for? Especially with PC gaming dying a slow aganizing death.
