Dragon Age 2 abducted from Steam, EA points finger at 'restrictive' terms of service as the culprit
Sep 2nd 2011 8:58AM (Joystiq)If EA thinks they can strong-arm me into using their second rate virtual store, forget about it. This is a company that has exhibited too many anti-consumer tactics in years past to be trusted with something like digital ownership, server authentication, etc.
Plus, I use Steam. I have zero desire to migrate to another service just because EA says so.
With the minefield of DRM and shoddy distribution in the PC gaming world, Steam is a true oasis: an iTunes for games. I think this is a miscalculation on EA's part to ignore how many gamers embrace the mantra of "Steam or The Pirate Bay."

Computers will always have problems, even ones made by Apple. Good thing Apple has the best customer support in the business.

Sep 10th 2009 3:06PM (Engadget)Rhapsody isn't Apple. It's actually an iTunes competitor... and a crappy one at that. I tried it a few years back and was appalled.
Good luck canceling your subscription, too. You have to call in. I got some Indian guy spending a good 30 minutes trying to talk me out of it in pseudo-English. "Sir, ah yew ah moozeek lohver?" Priceless.
