GDC09: Pardo details why Blizzard has ignored this generation of consoles

Mar 27th 2009 9:04PM (Joystiq)
I have a wireless keyboard and mouse hooked up to my ps3... just an ordinary USB setup I bought at best buy for my PC but then decided I wanted it in my living room instead.

Works fine for browsing the web but that no console games make full use of it.

But the hardware is there, and it works great.

I understand the XBOX 360 supports USB devices also but I could be wrong...

"Kratus" -> "Krati" if it were latin. But it's Greek, so: Kratos -> Kratoi

PETA's fur-hating, law-skirting, super-cute animal game

"... a little irresponsible for an activist group ..."

PETA is an irresponsible activist group. That's what it is. Irresponsibility from it is no surprise.

Apparently I'm very strange because I really like this game. Yeah it's short and kind of silly but for whatever reason I had fun with it. Eh there you go. I must be nuts.

Ars Technica defends Nintendo from Greenpeace goose egg

Nov 29th 2007 11:37AM (Joystiq)
It's not that Nintendo is trustworthy - producing semiconductors is actually way more polluting than many people realise. I would be suprised if any of the corporations listed by Greenpeace and actually "green" at all.

The problem is that Greenpeace is known to be _untrustworthy_. Pick any issue of theirs you want and dig a little deeper. You'll see that their "research" is almost always sloppy in the extreme. Greenpeace do not work with information - they work will BS attention whoring.

Environmental problems are real, pressing, and really, really complex. We need to act based on an actual understanding of the issues, not just charge about with some halfwit's knee-jerk reactions.

There are environmental organisations I respect. Greenpeace sure as hell isn't one of them.

Studio Archcraft's Project Exile planned for Q1 2008

actually there's a good reason they have a SNES square feel - some of the backgrounds have been blatantly ripped off from old square games!

2nd from the top is from Final Fantasy III/VI (north american version).

I'm pretty sure 3rd from the bottom is from Seiken Dentetsu III but I'm not sure.

4th and 7th from the top remind me _very_ strongly of a remake of final fantasy II (japanese version) which I played a couple years ago. But I could be making that one up.

Penny Arcade responds to our "hideous editorial," misses the point [update 1]

All things are _not_ equal. I too can construct large logical systems based on flawed assumptions, but they are useless to me.

So your core argument may be correct, but it has no useful relationship with reality because the starting point is nonsensical. The factors that influence my decision to buy are manifestly unequal. Which games are around for which machine? Do I care about blu-ray enough to pay an extra $200? (no I don't - I don't care about it at all, in fact). Am I intrigued by the wii controller? Do I detest the colour orange (from your second example)?
