Swag Saturday: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker & autographed guide

Jun 13th 2010 5:20PM (Joystiq)
Metal Gear Solid.

It's the only one I've ever played (played it on the PSP), but I'm thinking of buying a PS2 just to get the rest of 'em, and move my way into MGS4.

Debut XCOM trailer is an inky black treat

Jun 12th 2010 9:07PM (Joystiq)
I'm super excited for this. Like, this looks amazing.

I definitely understand why there's an air of disappointment for the X-Com fans, though. It probably isn't as simple as I'm making it seem, but it seems to me that they could have changed the name to anything else, and all of the negativity could have been avoided, 'cause, like I say, damn, this looks good. Has there even been any comment on how this ties into the universe? I haven't played the games -- did the first even have those weird black dudes?

VATS what Fallout: New Vegas looks like!

Jun 12th 2010 1:32AM (Joystiq)
I'm less excited for this than I was for Fallout 3, but I expect this to be a "better" game, if that makes sense. I've already been there, done that -- the magic of playing an Oblivion/Fallout thingy is gone. Still, there's a ton that Fallout 3 didn't do to make it a Fallout experience (i.e. a better experience), and it makes sense that Obsidian should be able to fix those problems.

Obviously I'm a little concerned, seeing how Alpha Protocol went down, but a man can dream.

Welcome to the latest Joystiq (we call it 'Futurestiq')

Well, now, this is ironic. I was replying to your post on missing the blue, and now my post ends up on a totally different post of yours, saying that your reply went to a random comment.

:(

Yeah, I miss the blue a tad bit, too. Everything's a bit more generic looking now. More professional, I suppose. It looks "better" from an objective viewpoint, but the blue brings back... memories... and stuff.

A small part of me was disappointed by the ratings system -- but it's whatever. I can, obviously, ignore it, so long as the review isn't written based on the score, if you catch my drift. And, hey, if that's the price I have to pay for this ridiculously, ridiculously awesome and super-mega-uber sexy update, so be it.

I give the new re-design 9.78382828191839181$$$$232100?201 out of 10.

Joyswag: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

May 17th 2010 11:49PM (Joystiq)
I feel a tad ashamed to admit that I've never played a Prince of Persia game. Now seems like a good time to start.

Prefer the Xbox 360 version.

Joyswag: ModNation Racers (and a PSP!)

I'll make a really elaborate straight line, with as many hazards as possible. On the one hand, it's just a straight line. On the other, it'll be really creative, because it'll have hazards! See?! It's cool!

I'm hopeless.

Joyswag: All games from Direct2Drive 'Spring Sale' [update]

Tali, for sure. I had an, erm, "connection" with her. But I was just role-playing, of course. As Shepard. I mean... whatever.

Review: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Nov 11th 2009 7:39PM (Joystiq)
Will not be buying. Has nothing to do with the fact that I'm a PC gamer, and that this doesn't have such "huge" gameplay facets such as the ability to "lean" -- I didn't like Call of Duty 4. Go figure.

I see the graphics, I understand that the multiplayer is deep. I just have never liked the fundamental gameplay of Call of Duty.
