Justin Wong wins national SFIV tourney, Daigo remains world champ

Apr 20th 2009 12:35AM (Joystiq)
Videos are up on Youtube. Wong vs. Diago match here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xev531_uB_M

Its not very interesting to watch though, as Diago pretty much dominates Wong.

The match of Iyo (Dhalsim) vs Diago (Ryu) is a real nail-biter with top notch playing on both sides. Its a much better match-up:

They all look great, but Sandbox has the greatest overall potential. Forge FTW!

Street Fighter 2 comes to ... Pinball FX?

Nov 5th 2008 4:57PM (Joystiq Xbox)
The layout (but not the graphics) looks somewhat similar to the actual Street Fighter II pinball machine that came out in '93. I remember it being a fun machine. Hopefully this table will be as well.

"Idol Minds reckon it's more of an abusement park (their pun, not ours)"

Nope, not Idol Minds' pun either. It is at least as old as 2003's "Bucketheadland 2" album:

"BUCKETHEADLAND is the world's premier ABUSEMENT PARK where all your dreams (and nightmares) come true!"

Video: Soul Calibur IV's Star Destroyer stage

Jul 8th 2008 12:57AM (Joystiq)
My apologies, ChooChoo, i wasn't being very clear as to which video i was referring. I meant the one shown at the link below from April 18:

http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/18/vader-and-yoda-square-off-in-new-soul-calibur-iv-trailer/

When Yoda is first shown with the word "Hope" across the screen, it looks as though he is in a tropical setting. However, when he stands up and pulls out his light saber he is in a very Dagobah-like swamp. As the vid progresses, you see fighting in the Docking Bay (complete with Shuttle) and more fighting in the Dagobahish swamp. From a video that came out months ago. I'm just saying this newer "Docking Bay" video shouldn't be news to anyone who has been keeping up with SCIV news.

Video: Soul Calibur IV's Star Destroyer stage

"attendees got a first glimpse at a fighting ground from a galaxy far, far away."

Actually, the video that first came out showing Vader and Yoda fighting showed this stage, albeit in short clips.

"No sign of Yoda's yet, but we're hoping for Degobah, the Jedi Council chambers, or Frank Oz's dressing room."

The same video mentioned above does in fact show Dagobah as well... Do you guys even watch the videos you post?

Win a super rare signed 300-Edition Xbox 360 Elite and 300 HD DVD!

I like the reaction on Bernie Mac's face when he first finds out that his character didn't hit 3000 hits after all. Yah, that was... wait, what? NOT "Mr. 3000"? "300" you say? Oh, i didn't get to see that yet. If only there was some way i could win a copy of that, and an Xbox 360, too. That would be cool.

Similar to "PANEL de Pon", yes. Similar to "PUZZLE de Pon" (as stated in article), no.

3200 MS points for $20 at Circuit City [Update]

Jul 30th 2007 12:37PM (Joystiq)
My point still remains, get a copy of the Price Match guarantee in writing (they usually have it on a brochure or in signage near the front of the store). Then you will know what to expect and what you can use to your benefit. As for the issue of "any other store in the company", most stores have a policy that the comptetitor they are matching must have a local store. This usually ends up being a radius of 20-50 miles, but will vary by store/market. You can view Best Buy's Price Match guarantee here:

Once again, i am not defending anyone who is being disrespectful to the customer, or who is not following their procedure and screwing you in the process. I AM defending the people who are following their corporate policies, and doing so with respect for the customer, but get yelled at anyway. You always run the chance of running into bad people at retail. I could write a small book on why that is (and why i left retail). In the end, we live in a free-market society. If you don't like the service, let them know you will be shopping elsewhere and tell your friends too. Eventually the company will change or go out of business for it's bad practice.
