Why Sony passed on publishing Demon's Souls in America

He didn't understand that death was apart of the game & that there is literally no way to get passed it without dying at least once.

Report: Next-gen Xbox to launch October/November 2013 with this GPU

@jchan The Wii-U won't because it has the games & innovation to keep it in the homes of most homes. Remember when everybody kept saying the Wii was going to fail? Yeah, by the time the PS4 & Nextbox launch, the Wii-U will be the cheapest console on the market which will help Nintendo stay on top sales wise.

@DoctorFrank

Being that the 360 was able to last this long with it's current GPU & still managed to put out great looking games even now, I don't think that'll be problem.

ESA withdraws support for SOPA

Jan 21st 2012 1:01PM (Joystiq)
This is nice and all but they just withdrew their support from this only for them to support a new bill called ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement) which essentially does the same thing SOPA & PIPA intended to do.

Another bill called PCIP (The Protecting Children from Internet Pornographers Act of 2011) which is worse than all 3. The government won't stop because it's their job to push stuff like this through.

I still hope this makes it to Xbox Live. It really doesn't make sense that it wouldn't being that the original was an Xbox launch title.

Vita sales drop below 3DS, PSP in Japan

Dec 28th 2011 12:55PM (Joystiq)
@nerdydesi1

I think you're right to an extent. Portable gaming is meant as a time killer. Something you do in the morning on your way to work or school. more & more developers are making high quality games for these handheld systems which is killing the whole notion of portable gaming. Now with the Vita coming out, they're trying to make titles of HD console quality which is really not a smart move. The simple question is bound to pop up when making a purchase: "Why would I buy this game for the Vita, when I can just get it for the PS3?" Sony is under the impression that quantity is better than quality, which is a big no no. Unless Sony and their first party developers realize that handheld gaming needs a gimmick to keep players coming back, the Vita version of their games will get shafted for the PS3 version 9 times out of 10

This is why they should have waited until later next year. Now Sony is going to have to pay for their mistakes yet again.

Kojima the producer open to MGS remake, Kojima the creator not so much

Dec 27th 2011 2:28PM (Joystiq)
@Nintendo Tim

But that's what Kojima was talking about. If you remake the game, you'd have to change the gameplay as well. MGS1 worked so well because we didn't have any expectations of what could be done by Solid Snake. With MGS 2, 3, & 4 already down the pipe, going back & remaking the game just with better graphics would be kind of stupid. They would have to change the way Snake did everything, as they did in Twin Snakes. & for the reason you stated above, it could also ruin the experience you had in the original game. Like Kojima said, if they did a remake, the only thing that can stay the same, is the story. EVERYTHING else would have to be re-built from the ground up in order to meet today's standards which is something Kojima doesn't necessarily want to do.

Well Kojima, most of your fans enjoy your games for their story. Here's hoping he can still provide a good story with an open ended game.
