just posting to state that i also have a home-made wireless mod controller (from an original sg) that will not work with guitar hero 2. F red octane right in the A.

That's just awesome, since the official SG guitar that I modified to be wireless DOES NOT WORK on Guitar Hero 2. I tried two demo's already (PSM demo, and retailer 10 track demo), and both did not accept my wireless controller as a guitar controller. BS.
