@Koya Indeed, how much I love FF7 & FF8, I don't consider them RPG's. But then I don't consider MA and DA2 RPG's (At most they have RPG elements (Shooter with RPG elements/Hack and Slash with RPG elements).
To me an RPG is about tactics, character building/designing, Story (not centred about a set main character but a world where your character undergoes the story, a character you design), etc.
I consider FF7 and FF8 more Adventure games with RPG elements in them. And they are GREAT as that, I really enjoyed FF7, but hehe for me it is not an RPG ;).
Japan, gaming wise, is like a very spoiled kid who is a fussy eater. The kid can get a lot of very good toys and food. And only likes a certain type of food that the rest of the world doesn't like as much. It also is highly patriotic to such an extend that it will shun any other food besides it's mommy's home cooking.
Not that that is a bad thing, it just is a fact, MS could as well just give up on the Jap Markett, and make more games like they did on the Original Xbox. The games their own fanbase actually loved. Crimons Skies, Midtown Madness 3, RalliSport Challenge,.. you know the things that made us buy an XBox.
If Japan doesn't want it, then just offer it through webshops and that they can order it from you if they want one (they can then also pay for the shipping costs). Rather then cater to them and get slapped in your face. You made mistakes MS, and Japan will not forgive you for those mistakes. Deal with it and take your losses. Cater to your own fanbase for a change, who are loyal and are craving for the games that where on the original one. Maybe with the addition of the Mistwalker titles, but that isn't a must either.
Mario and Sonic at the Olympics was one of the titles where SEGA whored Sonic out. Mentioning it together with this game (the sequel at least) will not help it much with the old SEGA fans.
It is like that Girlfriend/Boyfriend you reaaally loved.. but then she dumps you and has been with a lot of other guys/girls. Sure you can still remember the fond times but each time you see her/him, especially when mentioning one of the previous endeavours, you are reminded of the bad past.
So basically it is alot of Bullshit talk for :"SCREW YOU! WE DO WHAT WE WANT!";). Well then Blizz I do what I want and I don't buy over DRMed games like this :). Wether it is Ubisoft or you, the principle remains the same.
@Brian Griffin I know it was a joke, I'm just still miffed to see that people haven't changed so I tend to bite ;).
Original games or tryouts are ignored in favour of the 300th incarnation of a WW2 or Special Forces shooter. I just like to aplaud this rather then to dish it down with the rest of the bandwagon even if it is a joke.
@spin cycle The propper mapping of Brightness to the limited contrast of a TV is not some bullshit. There are many ways of doing this efficiently but one still has to find a correct one that looks the most pleasing to the eye.
Second WHAT A RIP OFF THIS GT5!!! New York has been in Project Gotham Racing for years! And London.. pfft MSR already had that long before GT. Bunch of copycats ;). :D.
(BTW I'm not being serious up there just showing how silly it is to care that tracks in certain regions are in the same region where other tracks in other games are.)
@ChronoSapien Actually travelling is by far not as expensive as the guys you see travelling. They cost by themselves already half a cottage in the Alps ;). Besides you need inspiration and textures don't you, cant do everything via Google/Bing/Ovi Maps :).
