It was NOT terrible by ANY means. Geeze. Personally played through twice solo and once Co-op. (and I rarely do that) It was really fun, once you figure out the shooting.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but within the Avatar creation/customization menus, clicking in the Right Analog stick makes your guy burp! Tilting his head up and down will alter the pitch or tone of the burp. Also, if you spin him(LT) or burp too much, he/she will get dizzy.
