EGM sold to original founder, resumes publication this year

Jun 23rd 2009 4:45PM (Joystiq)
I may be in the minority here, but I had subscribed for years and cancelled my subscription about a year before the folded because:

1. The magazine was shrinking into a pamphlet
2. The magazine was getting really crass, raunchy, and juvenile
3. The reviews were less and less informative about what the game was actually like.

Number 1 was only partially the magazines fault because of the internet and loss of advertisers, but 2 and 3 were very poor business choices in my opinion. If 2 and e change, I'll subscribe again. If not. No dice.

Atomic Games' Peter Tamte says Six Days in Fallujah 'about two-thirds' complete

@ Ben Gilbert

Let's save the Fox bashing please. I love this site, but I'm not going to be coming back if I have to take my gaming news with a snide (and childish) dose of leftist politics in the stories.

Hate Fox News if you want. I couldn't care less. Just please try to be a "journalist" -- if that means anything anymore -- and stick to "just the facts 'mam". It will make everyone happier and make you look less foolish.

Mitt Romney presidential ad on GameTrailers

Sep 20th 2007 6:38PM (Joystiq)
So what is the point of this article? That if we're gamers, we should be in favor of the current amount of violence and porn in the world or at least want more? If so, that's pathetic and it's no wonder anyone over the age of 25 or who's a parent won't listen to "gamers" if that's the "gamer" position.

There's nothing wrong with wanting less porn and violence being part of socially acceptable society. I don't hear any talk of bans in Romney's statements, just a pretty reasonable position. Take a breath and cool down. Gamers ought to be glad that a presidential candidate thought to post an ad there. It means you matter.

And people wonder why the video game industry isn't taken seriously or given it's due respect in business circles...
