EA is The Consumerist's 'Worst Company in America,' wins Golden Poo

Apr 4th 2012 6:54PM (Joystiq)
@Senor Whopper Agreed...
This outcome seems like it was from last decade. These days EA experiment with new ips, raider the urge to grind out clone sequels and generally turned over a new leaf....
Meanwhile Activision are milking franchises to death and generally acting the villain.

This was supposed to be a reply to the immoral conversation... But the mobile client is freaking out

Current gen consoles 'can't cope' with traditional Total War

Mar 31st 2012 2:44PM (Joystiq)
As an old school pc gamer who mostly plays on consoles (for time/family/financial reasons), I hate it when companies make statements about what genres console falters don't want.
Strategy games haven't preformed too well on console, but the ones we do get are normally sub-par or sent out to die with no advertising or promotion.

Well FONV had skill checks, hardcore mode, a world that made sense, a non linear plot and a heaps of endings. Fo3 was a shooter in a apocalypse themed theme-park.

Damn straight, they were better. And most of the issues with those two titles are due to issues outside of Obsidian's control. It's rubbish that bethesda can rush New Vegas out the door without qa and obsidian get the blame.

Great news! Obsidian were the only ones to put out an RPG worthy of the genre label. New Vegas took a solid action/shooter RPG and added skull checks, a non linear main quest, meaningful character interaction and improved character building.
Their downside was always technical and QA that publishers get to control. Giving them the chance to design without a publisher in the mix will be perfect.

(Don't) Give me that old time RPG combat

I think that most people responding have failed to read or understand what you wrote. While the title is seems clever, it doesn't represent the article and it has people commenting before they've actually read it.

If anything your suggestion is more conservative than the Fallout/xcom combat that people are suggesting on the forums.

Double Fine's Kickstarter kick-started funding for video games

Sad to see the tactical shooter fall short, but great to see those others doing well.
Hope this is the first wave of a new movement where games are made for gamers, not a faceless mainstream market.

Diablo's Descendants

@Tel Prydain
Am I winning the competition yet? :-)

Seriously, I love Sacred 2 on consoles. The totally open world, interesting ways to grow your character and multiple parallel campaigns really puts it over the top.
I did play Torchlight, but the whole time it just made me want to post sacred again.
