Joyswag: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

May 17th 2010 4:13PM (Joystiq)
First PoP game played was the original back when it was released on computers (and asked you for the fourth word in the 20th line in page 24 of the manual).

Getting the new one on PS3 would be great.

Wii Warm Up: Keeping up with Wii Fit?

Nov 13th 2008 11:45AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I've had it since launch and only haven't used it for 2 weeks I was out of town on July and for 3 weeks when I was recovering from an injury in september.

I use Wii Fit for 10-50 minutes a day, 4 days each week. The time depends on if I'm doing all my workout on Wii Fit or if I'm doing 10-30 minutes on Helix and 5-10 on other various exercises. Mostly it's Boxing, Stepping and some Yoga regularly and all the other exercises every now and then.

Nintendo DS tops 10 million in the Americas [update 1]

Jan 26th 2007 12:17PM (Joystiq)
I agree with Joselito. Here in Mexico we call them Estadounidenses as well, because that's what they really are.

Quick question: when you go out of the U.S. and get back, what do you answer at the border when they ask you for nationality? People from the U.S. have the obligation to say "U.S. Citizen" to the officer because THAT is their nationality.

It's not that "we get our panties in a bunch" is that U.S. Citizens are never educated into KNOWING what the term "american" really means, and it's all because of an incorrect sense of superiority: the U.S. is not America (America is the whole contintent)... and the U.S. is NOT the world.

Nintendo DS tops 10 million in the Americas [update 1]

Jan 25th 2007 11:53PM (Joystiq)
The "Americas" refers to North America (Canada, US, Mexico), Central America (El Salvador, Guatemala, etc.) and South America (Brazil, Argentina, Chile, etc.).

U.S. citizens refer to themselves as americans, which is wrong, and because of that the rest of the world has a tendency to refer to U.S. citizens as americans... which is wrong.

A citizen from Venezuela is an "american". A citizen from Mexico is an "american" too.

Nintendo gets sued over Wiimote [update 1]

Dec 8th 2006 10:52PM (Joystiq)
Nintendo WAS NOT sued by Inmersion over the rumble feature because NINTENDO DEVELOPED IT's OWN TECH. Go back and read all those news of the lawsuit. Microsoft settled and actually bought part of Inmersion (and will get part of the biiiiiiiig payment Sony will have to make in a year when the ruling against them is upheld) and Sony went to court.

So to make that clear, Inmersion sued because tech WAS stolen by Microsoft and Sony. Nintendo was NOT sued. The lawsuit over the wiimote has no ground, both products are different. Nintendo should counter-sue and make Interlink Electronics go bankrupt just for being dumb.

1UP editors: Wii got punk'd

And it's only 80,000 units for Japan, not 100,000. They took some units to "launch" in other territories.

Dave Navarro & Guitar Hero II at Best Buy coverage [update 1]

Nov 8th 2006 10:46AM (Joystiq)
Look, playing an actual instrument doesn't mean you can't enjoy playing a "fake" one as you imply. Same thing goes for all videogames. Soccer players enjoy a little game of virtual soccer here and there. Football players are the same. Why is that? Because it's FUN.

I'm a Drummer and I sure as hell enjoy guitar hero and would enjoy "Drum Hero" as well because it is a fun game and the experience is great. Plus, it's an excellent party game that anyone, no matter their skill level, can enjoy.

And stop being an ass just because you play a "real guitar". Unless you're Dave Mustaine (instead of thinking you are), you have no place in complaining about people having fun because they:

*Press red button to play riff one*
*Press blue button to play riff two*

Don't like Guitar Hero? Don't buy it and don't play it. Plain and simple.

Watch the Wii get undressed

Nov 1st 2006 2:43PM (Joystiq)
And the fact that AMERICA is the whole frecking continent, not just the US. Go back and read all the recent Nintendo press releases and they all say "Wii is set to launch in THE AMERICAS...", which means North America (CANADA,US, MEXICO) as well as Central (Panama, Guatemala, El Salvador, etc.) and South Amercica (Brazil, Argentina, Chile, etc.).

And while you're at it go and buy a map and get educated. America is the continent itself, same as Africa, Europe, etc. When Columbus discovered America it wasn't "you know what? Let's just call America this little place where the majority of the population will actually be foreign, making the economy of said country crash as soon as a new border double-wall is built and no more people can actually come over and work on jobs that no one else will do" It was "this new continent shall be known as America. As in, all of it's countries are America. Yes, that is about right".

The Cure - Cut (From the Album: Wish).

Give this one a listen and see for yourselfs how that distortion guitar (two guitars actually) and bass line would feel on guitar hero.
