This prize would be incredible to own. My favorite scene, cliched thought it may be, is when Leonidas recognizes the Persian envoy as bringing not an offer but a threat, and dispatches them in the now well known manner.

With 300,000 packs sold, it's likely that most people bought multiple packs, instead of each person buying one pack. So the number of people who find this price acceptable is closer to 100,000 (300,000/3 Packs until recently) than 300,000. I can't find how many copies they've sold, but the install base is probably at least 500,000 by now, at which point a 20% adoption rate for such desirable material is less than impressive. The large majority of people have rejected this overpriced content.

C'mon Engadget! Why did you post this, and then FORCE me to read it? Clearly I am too busy to read things that don't interest me; that's why I take the time to comment on how much of my time it wastes. I'm sure that there is PLENTY of gadget happening on a Sunday in August, and this is just distracting you from it! How much did this irrelevant piece delay your breaking news of Microsoft maybe making a laptop case?

Maybe from now on when I see a post that doesn't interest me, I'll just scroll wordlessly by.

Why is the solution for Microsoft to always buy someone else? Microsoft should buy Nintendo, buy EA, buy HTC; Microsoft doesn't have any incentive to buy HTC for the same reason they have no incentive to make and sell PCs. Unlike Apple, they are able to produce OSes and software that can conform to different hardware specifications, and leave the hardware business up to those who already excel in it. Apple thrives off utilizing a closed system that simplifies things for both the producer and the consumer and locks out third parties, like iTunes and iPod's relationship and the fact that the iPhone accepts no external media and third party software. Microsoft has zero incentive to buy HTC in particular because they share such a close partnership. In exchange for being devoted to Windows Mobile, Microsoft lets HTC behind the curtain all the time and keeps them appraised of future developments and even seeks input of what changes HTC thinks would be beneficial.

I look forward to mocking all the Apple Fanboys as the object of their affection remains in my closet when I continue to use my Cingular 8125.

I'm excited for All-Pro Football 2K8 as well, but are people convinced that it will really come out on its projected release date of July 16? There is still not much known about a game that is allegedly only three weeks away. I'll drink the Kool-Aid and believe if everyone else will, but it's hard to be confident that this game is on schedule.

Top improvement left out of this update:
Support for 16:10 resolutions for those of us who use computer LCD monitors. Just give me two slender black bars at the top and bottom so the screen doesn't have to stretch and can maintain the 16:9 aspect ratio.
