@RenegadePanda It most certainly does impact you, as Netflix, like all the third party video apps has the washed out black level bug. This new dash update doesn't fix the apps, so it will be an unknown amount of time before Netflix and the others look acceptable again. If you can't see any problems, then good for you, but if you want to see how it should look, try the PS3 Netflix app. It's night and day.
And this will nicely illustrate once again what a train wreck the Xbox marketplace is to navigate. Microsoft, I don't want to see Rock Band songs in my marketplace, HIDE THEM! Same applies to any dev/pub which spams the marketplace with crap.
Sky has been on the 360 for at least 2 years now. It's their Sky Go service, which is a mix of live TV and on demand. It's expensive as you would expect, and the picture quality is absolutely atrocious.
I might pick this up when it hits the bargain bin, so in about 2 weeks then. I thought FF13 was an abomination, maybe this will at least just be mediocre.
I hope there's a way to mute the voice acting though. Nothing worse than seeing clearly Japanese characters (even if they don't have black hair) talking in *AMERICAN*. Yes, whiny, nasal, teenage American. To my English ears it's akin to finger nails on a black board.
The author of this went into some depth explaining how absurd the guest characters were in previous Soul Caliburs, before triumphantly proclaiming that Soul Calibur V will be different... with it's guest character from Assassin's Creed.
@Fouad I guess Maybe I just don't like didgeridoos, but the Rayman soundtrack was just ugly noise to my ears. I prefer platform games to have catchy tunes, rather like Mario. Mario Galaxy or Super Mario World are more my type of thing, as far as platform music goes.
It depresses me that so many of my fellow Brits slavishly buy the same game every damn year. It's the same people, just play last year's edition and pretend the football strips are the updated ones with the extra stripe on the left shoulder (or whatever the differences are).
As for Rayman, it's been heavily discounted here which is something I recently took advantage of. I always thought it should have been an XBLA title and having played the full thing I still think that. It's perfectly competent but also simplistic and saddled with a really weak soundtrack. I paid £17 for it and to be honest, that's too much.
Because nothing generates a tense, survival horror atmosphere like having 5 american kids in the same game swearing into their microphones while arguing with their mothers.
I used to like Resident Evil, well, I did until RE5 came out.
Post the Xbox dash update I now use my PS3 exclusively for video. It's a shame as the 1080p Zune rentals used to look pretty nice.
Oh and Netflix on Xbox is horrible. The PS3's Netflix looks rather basic, but is actually far more usable, plus it does 1080p and has correct black levels.
