Wii conspiracy theories. (They're really, really sad.)

Apr 29th 2006 12:27PM (Joystiq)
Also in response to everyone who feels this is a childish name. I'm looking forward to the Ford Cootie. C'mon, why would you make a name that is so easy to assault and make fun at its expense. There are hundreds of other names that could have been used that would have been much easier to market.
Nintendo's marketing team = lame

In response to "It's totally viral, dude!"
It is always a disastrous and dangerous thing when you are spreading viruses with your wii

Metareview - Silent Hill (the movie)

Apr 24th 2006 1:25PM (Joystiq)
The movie was already cut down from 3 hours. I am guessing that is where the real exposition in the movie went, being replaced with that cheap, un-fulfilling and inadequate info dump. Perhaps the extended DVD version will be a homerun

Metareview - Silent Hill (the movie)

Apr 24th 2006 1:15PM (Joystiq)
I have never played the games before and I didn't really know anything about it until I went there and I was in the same boat with these movie critics by the end of the movie. I had no idea what was going on, and barely had a base to give any thought to what had happened in the movie as it was largely action with what felt like annotated information at the end. The blatant info dump should have definitely been spread out and close to the beginning.

However, after all of those qualms about the movie and its story telling I still wanted to understand what was going on. I went online and read up on these games and their plot lines etc.. and now I actually understand what is going on. It is nowhere near as bad as the reviews claim it is. If you can understand it you will enjoy it, but the onus should not be entirely on the moviegoer, particularly if they have to do some homework to go out to the movies.

The bestselling games of all time

Feb 13th 2006 11:11PM (Joystiq)
Wow, with such a smaller market back then I am amazed that Super Mario Bros. is the top selling game. I mean I know they had almost the entire market share, but I had no idea the installed base was so large!

Master Chief unmasked

It makes perfect sense, he's a tough guy.
The chief export of Chuck Norris is pain.

and he's a gamer..

When Chuck Norris plays Oregon Trail his family does not die from
cholera or dysentery, but rather roundhouse kicks to the face. He also
requires no wagon, since he carries the oxen, axels, and buffalo meat on
his back. He always makes it to Oregon before you.

In-game ad network says 'stay in school'

I wonder how many children with truancy issues regularly play video games with an internet connection though. Not that I have any facts, but it just seems like it would be a low %

XBLA chief trash talks Sony and Nintendo's offerings

Feb 3rd 2006 10:02PM (Joystiq)
I'm not saying anyone would do thise, but if we really were jonesing for a retro nintendo fix, it can be emulated for free with a click of the mouse on your PC. I haven't seen any of the XBLA content, so I do not know if it is also avalible in some PC form. I'm just sayin, if I really wanted to play Super Dodgeball, I can make it happen without the revolution.

Spoiler alert: Super Bowl results leaked

Feb 2nd 2006 7:25PM (Joystiq)
Actually, I think there is some significance to this..well not directly. But if I remember correctly, every super bowl they have the teams face off in Madden on a Sony system and the results have had an amazing streak of accuracy. Of course this comes to you all as heresy I suppose, does anyone else remember this??
