That didn't look like it took too much fiddling with the sliders. Two or three sliders, hair and beard, voila, Clint Eastwood. To me it gives the impression that by default the characters are designed to look ... lets say... familiar.
Depends how long you can take the torture. The game isn't going anywhere but that doesn't mean the players will stay as well. You have to wonder how long before your friends decide they're going to play something with more perspective, how long before your guild disintegrates or how long before crafting becomes useless because there is no one to craft for and such... How long before you are "forced" to leave by external factors...
Then again, there is always some hope, as with Vanguard now. For some, a vague maybe is better than a definite no on Tabula Rasa coming back... For me, no, I don't want to play dead games.
The concept of this column is kind of upside down. It shouldn't be about games but about locations. If someone's jonesing for some space exploration a run down of space-based games and their locations might be an interesting read. Could help readers discover new interesting games that they might have missed. This just looks like advertisement for a specific game though. Just a thought.
I like beefcake. in real life I mean, I have to admit it. So maybe I'm not the right person to answer this... But I'll play gnomes and dwarves and skinny elves just as well, so I also think body type doesn't have much to do with it. I could call it a bonus as I'll typically pick races based on personality/lore or overall racial aesthetics.
Not too much, unless some third party stuff is involved. For instance things like "we've partnered with XYZ to bring you ZYX, what you need to do is go over to their facebook page and like it..." Uhh, how about NO?
I have this sinking feeling that facebook like numbers are starting to influence some big decisions in companies, like how news broke out over Fallout New Vegas developer missing out on bonuses because of a point on it's Metacritic score... so i think they do these kinds of promotions. I think I might get more annoyed if they start to overdo it.
