I voted for the Gears 2 matchmaking, but I think that Xbox 360 console errors should be a perennial option, since I had ANOTHER console die on me this year. We should take off Mirror's Edge and put RRoD or any sort of console errors in its place.

For whatever reason, one of my favorite gaming Christmases is the year that I got Baten Kaitos for the Gamecube. It was such a cool game, and it was so nice to have a loooong time to finish it up!

Fun fact: I have never gotten gaming hardware as a Christmas gift. Sorta weird, but I tend to have the console(s) I want before Christmas.

I absolutely love the idea of a new contender in the survival horror space. We haven't really seen anything new there for a long time, and Dead Space will be an extremely welcome change.

I would buy the souls of four vagabonds for 1600 M$ points (seeing as the low price of vagabond souls is 400 points!). I need me some minions.

Amazon.com (and any other online store, provided that they have a good deal!)
Target (that's where I got my launch day Wii!)
Craigslist (sometimes you find good deals!)

Honestly, if you buy intelligently, you can find a bunch of Blu Ray discs on Amazon for $20. I preordered Batman Begins from Amazon for - you guessed it - $20. And I also got 300 and Hellboy for $20. Granted, I bought my PS3 primarily as a gaming device, so I won't be one to buy a movie the millisecond it comes out, unless I can get it for a reasonable price.

Don't harp on the PS3's lack of games, because I sold my Wii to GET a PS3 for the same reason. At least Sony has slight 3rd party support. If anyone out there is on the fence about a PS3, there are enough good games that have come out in the past year and a half to tide you over until the heavy hitters come out, starting with Metal Gear Solid 4. Resistance: Fall of Man, Ratchet and Clank, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, and not to mention the fact that Sony has some truly great niche games on the PSN, like PixelJunk Monsters and Echochrome. Make sure that you will play the games that are on the PS3, but if they strike your fancy, now is not a bad time to buy a PS3.

Give Death Cab's new album a listen, and you'll probably be kicking yourself for not knowing who they are (or any of their albums, in my opinion). Out of the four, they're the only one that I'VE heard of.
