@db2 Well, the Matthew Ott who left the glowing review seems to have a LinkedIn profile that says he's a producer at Zynga: https://twitter.com/#!/johnLongview/status/169197654352465920

Or, since it's a prequel to The First Encounter, it's Before First Encounter. Like CE and BCE.

But BF Egypt is pretty damn good.

Psychonauts is $2.49 until 10AM Eastern on GOG.com

@IHearYou Not sure, although this article http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/11/24/double-fine-talks-sequels-they-can-and-can-t-make.aspx makes it seem as though they at least have the rights to it (unlike Grim Fandango, etc).

I may be getting it mixed up with the fact that Majesco (the original publisher) went out of business, and so DF didn't really get any more money from sales of the disc version. Perhaps these digital stores get past that?

My understanding is that Double Fine no longer receives money for copies of Psychonauts these days. Anyone know if that's true? I seem to recall Tim saying that if you wanted them to get paid, it'd be better to buy a t-shirt from their store.

Dead Island is back with haunting debut trailer, Deep Silver to publish

... I just noticed that, at the beginning, she's back to being "human-colored", and gets progressively more pale / red-eyed as she rises back up towards the window.

Easily the best trailer I've seen in forever.

Gameloft pulling back on Android development

Nov 20th 2009 6:28PM (Joystiq)
A couple of points:

1. Although the Android platform does allow for a variety of hardware configs, it's looking like the majority of phone-type devices will be Droid-level in terms of power (at least) from here on out. Which, apparently, is about the same as iPhone 3GS, or a bit less.

2. Although I can't say that I personally will miss the types of games Gameloft produces, having a big-name house like that developing for the platform will always help, in terms of getting other apps made.

At the moment, however, I'm just enjoying my Droid for the fantastic mobile communicator it is.
