why is everyone so worried about the exact release date? is that going to make it come any sooner? Sure it may discourage them from pushing it back further, but still, it will come out when it comes out, regardless of whether or not you know when that is.

Can anybody actually confirm that there is a new version of the update that doesnt brick the console. I bought a 360 the day the new update was released and it was bricked by the update, and im hesitant to install it on my new one as I dont really want the same problem. Xbox support was useless.

my brand new 360, which i picked up last night, plugged in, and started installing the update, locked up and threw the E71 error and afterwards would not even get past the boot screen without erroring. Called MS, they told me to exchange it and dont install the update and to call them back in a few days to see if they have a solution. I exchanged my $400 paper weight and got a working xbox that i've yet to connect to live in fear that it will tank just like the first.
