Also not the cheapest they have ever been. I can't remember if it was a "deal of the week" or just Treyarch trying to get their sales up before MW2 realeased, but at one point they had the maps for $5/per pack = $15 total.

I was a beta tester and am a current owner of a Gen 1 Drobo. I would definitely NOT recommend this thing based on my experience with the 4 Drive Gen 1 Drobo.

For simplicity, it is awesome. Entry level data protection without even having to think about it. However, as others have commented, the performance tends to be significantly lower than you would expect for that kind of money. That and the build quality of the G1 Drobo is questionable. Mine makes quite a bit of noise because when the fan spins, the aluminum chassis rattles. That, and if I left my computer on for days it would just randomly drop the connection between the Drobo and my PC.

For $1500 you could almost build a tower with tons of room for drives and run a TRUE enterprise-class iSCSI storage system with HP/Lefthand P4000 VSA software. Included in the cost is the ability to replicate data to another P4000 VSA in real-time, among other things.

I'm just wondering when they're going to release that damn usage monitor that they promised us over a year ago!!!

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the 4 instrument at a time thing was limited to "Guitar Hero" branded controllers. In GH: Metallica, I can't even do the tutorials because I am using my Rock Band gear.

Oh, and of course there are achievements tied to completing the tutorials...bastards.

By forcing people to pay for Live Gold membership, they make it a "privilege" which can also be revoked. Unlike the PS3 where it is "included" with the console, so every little kid who gets a PS3 can also get online and play. So it also creates a barrier to entry and probably ultimately cuts down the number of a-holes and little kids who would otherwise play unrestricted.

Besides, you can get 12+1 cards only easily for $40. 40/13 roughly equals $3 a month. Most people 16 and up can certainly afford that.

Eric Z...the Meijer deal appears to be localized. I checked two Meijers near me and neither had it on sale. I also checked the circulars online and neither showed it for the $39 you got it for. So for the Meijer deal - YMMV.
