I agree with what they are saying about it being way to early to count out the ps3 and if i was a betting man i would still put my money on sony pulling it out some how but i think one of the big things sony had going for it in the past with the ps1 and ps2 was the cool factor. It like there are better mp3 players then the ipod now (and cheaper) but because the ipod is still the cool item its sells more, i think sony lossing this factor to the wii along with the high price may hurt them big this time.
I agree with your post but i think you are wrong saying that nintendo have never, at any point, had the best piece of hardware on the market in any catagory, i think the snes was the best when it was released and the gamecube might not have been as stong as the xbox but value for money (just looking at the hardware) i would say it was.
The graphics in this game look very good and the rev is top of my list for the next gen consoles but i think its pretty clear that the 360 and ps3 will out do it visually as the years go by although not by as much as people think. From once being a hardcore gamer to now a very casual gamer i was satisfied with the graphics back in the days of the megadrive and snes so as you can tell i'm pretty easy to please, graphics long stopped be the main selling point for me, i remember when street fighter 2 came out i thought to myself it just can't get better than this (very wrong). I'm just hoping the rev does shake up the gaming world like nintendo are hoping as other than the odd classic here and there i am starting to get very bored with gaming in general.
I would love to see another sequel to afterburner. I think a next-gen version could work on any of the new systems, the 360 with online dogfights, the revolution with the new controller or the ps3 with better graphics (maybe).
History (and logic) suggest it obviously ain't over for the PS3

Nintendo's new Zelda most certainly doesn't fall flat
