Apple - iPhone in Summer 2007 3 Iterations since then. Android - G1 in Nov of 2008 over a year and a half after the iPhone.
Apple still has their OS locked down tight, you cant develop unless you pay, you can publish unless you pay. If you don't follow by apple's rules your app get pulled
Android's Apps go like this. You get the tools, you get the info, no NDAs no Paying nothing. If you wanna pub, then you pay, if you wanna post it online for other people to DL for free.. Well then you don't pay. See a Trend here?
OS updates. Just because they have Software Updates at a regular interval doesn't mean that they are doing it better, it just makes it so their is more hype for "One More Thing"
Android has gone through 7 revisions with an 8th version coming out. Granted that the first few were rough around the edges, they got the point across to the people that matter to start with, the developers. As it shows now, more android devices are shipping every day, with more features and better capabilities. The iPhone got cut and paste after android, it's now finally getting what Apple is calling multitasking, push just started working with in the last year.
Funny how android did all that from day 1?
And when someone says they dropped the ball, doesn't have to mean it how you interpret it. They dropped the ball by thinking for their customers not about them.. I would've stayed with the iPhone if it were more like the Android OS in terms of Openness and open standards, but alas they just want your $$ and don't care as much after
Baww they got the new iThingy before us. Let us bash them.
Who the hell cares. The only fault that was here was that apple let a prototype device out in the wild. Stuff happens. Should Gary be fired? no. Should TUAW be scrutinizing GIZs letter? Who cares they just want readers.
Well this is perfect timing, if I were to win. My 360 just started getting RROD, which is fantastic as a load of new games are coming out within the next year or so, not to mention that I preordered Halo: ODST. Well here's to winning!
Wow, This looks nearly identical to the previous one, minus this shows the carpent and a different screen in play. Aside from that, the screen crack is a copy as well.. People trying to milk money for thier own mis judged actions..
IMHO, the cord looks cut, not the way it would look if it were snaped

May 22nd 2010 12:36PM (TUAW.com)This article is for average users. While FroYo isn't officially out yet, for the most part it is. Currently FroYo Android is > Apple 4.0
Apple dropped the ball plain and simple, and this isnt fanboyism, I use an iPhone
