Platinum's Kamiya hoping to announce his own game in 2012, Fumito Ueda loves Portal 2, and more

@Rikimaru You've got a point about Skyrim not having been released there. Presumably either some people were interviewed at different times or they imported Skyrim. But your theory about it being a marketing ploy is ridiculous.

Joystiq Top 10 of 2011: Portal 2

Jan 4th 2012 5:40PM (Joystiq)
@MisterEFQ Firstly, it's not true that all opinions (and therefore "Top 10" lists) mean as much as each other. Some opinions are far better justified than other. Or perhaps you think Hitler's opinion that the Jew's should be killed is worth as much as any other (actually, that's a trick question, but as long as it gets you thinking...)? For example, one factor that has affected this list is the number of Joystiq writers who have even played the games in question (how many played Skyrim? Compare that to how many played Skyward Sword), which takes away from the idea that this is a list of best games rather than most played.
Secondly, even if we leave aside how well justified the opinions are, there's the simple fact that some people's opinions will have a greater influence than others' (e.g. a major gaming blog's versus those of a poster on that blog). It's entirely rational to be agitated by an influential source not promoting something you like. It continues to amaze me that people can't see this.

@TheChezDispenser Why do you want "worried" to be hyperbole? Sounds like you're worried that Doctor Who's opinion is to be worried when a game he likes doesn't receive attention, which differs from yours (or so you think).

Vita won't support simultaneous web browsing and gameplay

@corna Forget what I said, I hadn't read the article well. But yeah, this seems like a non-issue.

Vita won't support simultaneous web browsing and gameplay

@djhaywud
Actually, it should definitely be mentioned that this is not properly confirmed. Japanese blogs have been quick to point out that the term the article uses implies that the game will be paused if you open up the browser, as opposed to them both running simultaneously (which you can do with music, for example). However, why or how on earth you would run the browser and game simultaneously is beyond me, so the wording could very well mean that you need to close down the game.

Deja Review: Cave Story 3D

@TheShaper
Just pick it up again. 30 minutes isn't really giving it much of a chance. It's got a cool weapon system and bosses as well as a charming story and soundtrack, but it takes maybe an hour to kick off in full.

@Softserve Well he's Rock Man in Japan.. so Jazz Man? (Metal Man is already taken.)

Ninja Gaiden 3's 'Hero Mode' allows more players to experience the story

Sep 20th 2011 12:32PM (Joystiq)
@HaVoK308 This is just one aspect of a whole host problems. No good news has come out of this game (apart from the fact that it exists, since I'll take even a shoddy Ninja Gaiden over a lot of other games).

Kirby: Mass Attack review: Pink, puffy and preposterous

@ShokLoc Well we're getting Return to Dreamland, so I see nothing to be worried about.
