Kane & Lynch 2 demo assaults the public next week

Jul 24th 2010 8:58AM (Joystiq)
@Drdre74
In the options, even in the demo, they had an option to turn off the shaky camera. I didn't mind it.

But the game itself, I thought, was pretty fun. Playing it on hard actually requires that you move around and adapt to what the AI's doing to get you out of your position; it's one of the few games I've played where enemies don't seem timid about shooting at you.

I enjoyed it.

"High level models"
That usually means the models that they sculpt first and then scale back from to where they're actually usable on the target hardware and in the context of the rest of the assets.

That's an impressive starting point for a hand-held system, but they're not going to look as good as this might have initially made us think.

I understand your comment, because I don't buy used games for the same reason -- I want to support the developer, but geeeez. Don't rag on someone because they want to save a few bucks.

If you try spotting when there's no one in your view it takes away the ability for a few seconds to prevent just jamming on that button like I used to do in the beta. Just make sure you're pressing it only when you see someone.

Cool. It just sounded like you were throwing your arms up in the air because of this one article, and it frustrates me when people do that.

Oozing orange weak points, indeed.

Aren't you the least bit put off by how opinionated this article was? Do you really feel like this is an accurate description of the game when it's oozing with so much dissatisfaction? I realize this article is detailing Mr. Mitchell's experience with the game, and human experiences are inherently subjective, but, gosh durnit, I can't read this and not think he didn't go with some sort of negative feelings toward the game.

The author is entitled to his opinion, which he has clearly lain out for us within this article, but don't write off the game just because of this.

... or possibly it sold well because it's a pretty good game?

I agree; however, I think, the sexuality present in this is the creepy overt kind, just like the creepy overt kind of violence in something like Saw.

COD has very arcadey controls; Killzone 2 wasn't going for that, I understand. That doesn't excuse every weapon moving like it weighs thirty five kilos. If you're going for a realistic approach to aiming, one that incorporates weight, you have to apply specific weight attributes to the different weapons instead of just making the aiming universally slow.

A pistol should not feel like an assault rifle.
