Sep 11th 2007 4:17PM (Joystiq)You may not have 100% of the functionality you get when using a Windows PC, but I'm not going to harp on MS for providing a premium experience when combining their device with their platform. In fact, I'd expect it to work best on their platform first.
Ideally, all platforms would have just as feature rich of an experience, but you have to make tradeoffs in software. A watered down, platform agnostice service? Or a feature rich, platform specific service. Hmm... am I talking about Sony vs Microsoft or Microsoft vs Apple?

Aug 1st 2007 12:12PM (Engadget)Actually, I think it would be really cool if they could do it without actually storing anything on the HDD locally. Rather, everything should just live in the cloud so when I want to go watch the latest American Idol it can just stream it down live instead of having to record it to my console first. Let the big companies invest in server side storage so every customer doesn't have to invest in hard drives locally.
