@4: How did I go in with a hostile mind set? Sure, it was a classic in 1982, but I give ample reasons for my conclusion that it is a badly executed game which screws up on everything it adds over the original game. Sure, the single player is fun for a few games, and it's cheap. Otherwise I'd have given it a 1 or 2 without a moment's hesitation. The 5 is actually a compliment to the single player game's retro quality.

Why do I have troubles believing a demo would be out for a game that's still over half a year away and is known to be having severe performance problems to be ironed out in those 6 months still ;)

I think it's a shame you forgot to include Mad Tracks and Hoopworld. Both slated for release this summer (Mad Tracks may end up filling the August 16 gap) and great games :)

Truth be told, Dreamweaver wasn't the best example :) Worst possible example would be Borland C++ Builder: with BCB5 I've seriously occasionally waited 5 minutes for an Intellisense popup to appear. Upgrading to a P4 2Ghz with a RAID-0 SATA set improved that to about 15 seconds at worst.

50 times difference in speed is ofcourse not possible in raw power. In practice however having a machine with double the memory, double the CPU speed and double the HD speed might easily achieve a factor 10 or depending on the situation indeed 20 or more.
