Metareview: Halo 3 (Xbox 360)
Sep 24th 2007 11:20PM (Joystiq)360's Guitar Hero II guitar works in Windows, Frets on Fire
Apr 6th 2007 7:21PM (Joystiq)Dead Rising and Lost Planet to remain Xbox 360 exclusives
Mar 26th 2007 12:04PM (Joystiq)In this day and age the only real reason to buy one console over another is the exclusive titles. The very slight difference in PS3 and 360 make for an almost nil debate over power and performance. You take away all the reasons for the average person to buy a PS3 and they will most likely turn to cheaper alternatives (read as 360). Its not a stance of fanboy-ism, but rather a stance of reason. People shop for value plain and simple.
Gamestop shenanigans sell open games as 'new'
Mar 26th 2007 9:08AM (Joystiq)The reason they try to sell you this gutted copy when they have perfectly good factory sealed copies is that these stores allow the employees to "rent" the games as a perk for working there. I can't tell you how many times this happened when I worked there checking out N64 and PS1 games but it was almost every shift for 2 years. It doesn't stop at games for consoles. Often we were allowed to check out PC games (even ones with CD keys like Half-life, Diablo 2 and Starcraft), controllers, hardware and so on. I can't see this practice changing for the standard policy it was then. Matter of fact I know this still happens from the people that I still know work there in some locations.
This isn't to mention the product hording on new items or systems where they would ask first if you reserved, then tell you they don't have any. Only to try and extort some add-on sale. Only when you agree to whatever bullshit they try to push on you, be it discount card, extra controller, strategy guide, or whatever, the game would materialize in the back room for you to be able to purchase.
My last dealing with Gamestop was when I was denied purchase of a DS lite after I made a reservation because I wouldn't purchase the extended warranty or any games with the system.
F EB and Gamestop.
Digg consensus says WoW won't help you score a lover
Mar 15th 2007 8:21AM (Joystiq)Nothing against the game itself. The game is a well put together game that is fun and enjoyable in most aspects. The problem is the people that play it. In that I mean the people who have nothing to offer to any conversation, or social interaction other than last nights raiding exploits, how far in X dungeon your guild has progressed, or what piece of loot/rank you are currently after. These are what are commonly known as the dregs of society (A.K.A. douchebags). You know who you are, and I swaer to go if one more of you bring it up in a conversation that doesn't have anything to do with WoW, let alone video games, I will put a cigarette out in your eye.
$100 million for a PS3? What a bargain!
Nov 17th 2006 9:28AM (Joystiq)Guy> Aren't you the guy I saw selling his PS3 on ebay.
Toolshed> That's me! Camped out for days to make a quick buck.
Guy> O'rly?
Toolshed> Ya'rly?
Guy> ::stabs toolshed in the face repeatedly with deer antler::
Launch camping tips
Nov 16th 2006 9:12AM (Joystiq)BTW DH stands for D---Head right? And good luck to all those campers. May your ebay auctions prove a fruitless attempt at making a quick buck. To all those who actually want a PS3 remember, elbows and knees have no give. Aim directly at a nose, stomach or groin and earn your rite to play the next-gen (albeit a year late). GL to all
Sorry Canada, gotta wait 'til Monday
Oct 13th 2006 11:33AM (Joystiq Nintendo)PS3 pre-orders open tomorrow at EB Gamestop
Oct 9th 2006 11:54PM (Joystiq)- Who cares what he does with his time and/or money. I know everyone is worked up over the release and if you really need/want one then your probably going to have to either A) buy it from patrick or a guy like patrick, B) know someone to hook you up, or C) be one of the luckiest people in your area and hope to camp out for one and not get robbed.
@Patrick.
-Hope you get one. Don't work about the neckless goobers who want to give you shit about reselling. I guarantee that there will be more people second guessing breaking the security seal and just throwing it up on ebay. Tips for your auction: Try selling it local first. Its a quicker turn around and no fees.
I'm glad there are people salivating over the PS3 and hopefully they will make some decent must have games in the future that make it a must have console.
Good luck to everyone. Flame on!
Alternate carrying cases for PSP & DS carts
Sep 29th 2006 10:42PM (Joystiq)I mean lets not walk around with a bunch of goofy ass crap stuffed into our pockets. These are made by nintendo and work well. Even as a stand alone with DS lite and this in your pocket is great. The size is about the size of a stick of memory. 'Nuff said! Oink!
