The DS doesn't need homebrew like the PSP does. It actually has a great library of fun games on its own.

The real question is: Does it have a headphone jack?

If it plays Live Arcade games, bitchin'. Sounds like healthy competition. If it's more like a PSP, screw it. We need Halo and PGR on a handheld like we needed GTA and Socom (as in, not really at all).
