Jul 10th 2010 7:13PM (Joystiq)The VOIP ads were a last minute announcement that kinda sucks, but they haven't started yet. I haven't heard a single one. When they do start, they are supposed to be heard once when you first enter a district and then only once every 5 hours.
The guns feel very different from eachother. I find myself changing which weapon I use fairly often, depending on the situation I find myself in. Do you want to destroy a vehicle? Go for the big ass machine gun. Do you want to pick at enemies from a distance? Grab the sniper rifle. Do you want to chew up enemies close up? Grab to OCA or one of the shotties.
You already have designers that are getting action time for free because they can sell their stuff for RTW points. You can spend RTW points to either grab 20 hour increments of action time at about $6 or just pay $10 a month for unlimited action district time.
The game is fun though. Chasing people on foot or in vehicles through the city is fun. Witnessing a criminal mug someone or break a store window to rob it and then chasing them down is pretty damn fun. Playing a criminal and having to escape the enforcers after they spotted you doing something is fun too.
Now it isn't perfect and I would love to see a few things change, but this is easily one of the better new MMOs out there and it is definitely something different.
