it's the same here in Belgium. Having to go through third-parties for support kills the Apple experience 95% of the time. It's slow, unresponsive, they bounce you around from one person to another & when they do decide to do something, you get extra fees on top of the high prices they make you pay: the iPhone isn't subsidized in Belgium so it's a full price on purchase & you still sign up for a two year contract as an iPhone without a data plan is quite limited (thanks Mobistar).
On the other hand, I've had to send my iPod Classic for repair, went perfectly well. I had a super nice person on the phone, made me run a few diagnostics, asked for my address to send a little "coffin" & an UPS envelope so I could send it to them. The whole process didn't even take 10 minutes & I had a new iPod classic (or a very well refurbished one) a couple of days later.
I guess my current late 2007 Santa Rosa MacBook Pro will suffice for now. I'll wait for a die shrink before I even start thinking about an upgrade unless the 8600GT splurges of course. :-P
If it's true that Nokia was asking Apple to cross-license as the only possible way to license their technologies in the GSM standard, it's a pretty telling sign on how desperate they are right now.
Hopefullyboth parties can come to an agreement soon that won't compromise too much either company.
It reminds me of an official video demonstration for a CD burner (I forgot the brand) where the presenter showed how to download music off Napster & then burn an Audio-CD with them. Good times. ;-)
I'm sure if I look hard enough I could still find it.
Since Chrome OS has been made open source, wouldn't it be simpler to say someone has modifier/recompiled it to work on the Dell Mini 10v ? What's with the term "hacking" ? :-P

Chrome OS hacked for Dell's Mini 10v, WiFi and all
Nov 28th 2009 2:14AM (Engadget)To me, something like reverse engineering is hacking but simply modifying code & re-compiling it doesn't register as hacking to me. :-P
