THQ wants Red Faction: Battlegrounds to be free, or at least cheap

Aug 20th 2010 4:41PM (Joystiq)
Free sounds like about the right price for this game.

USB modchip device claims to enable PS3 game backups [update]

Aug 19th 2010 1:21PM (Joystiq)
JC, it's very simple... they use a legit debug kit to try to distance their hardware product from the mod scene as much as possible, even though it's a mod device, to avoid the fate of the R4.

Might & Magic Heroes 6 announced, slated for 2011

@ben linus Nothing can possibly hope to top Konami's E3 press conference/hallucinogenic train-wreck, and you know it.

id's Carmack wants to support current franchises, new IPs unlikely

@HardBoiled2009

Please allow me to be the grammar Nazi here.

Drakkenfyre, It's "I've got" or "I have got" not "I got"

HardBoiled2009, you did not need to capitalize "on" or "console" as neither is a proper noun, they didn't fall at the start of the sentence, and it's a sentence, not a headline.

Sony Style offering free game with 120GB PS3 purchase

@F4WMR I wish I was as rich as you apparently are. Believe it or not, not everyone sleeps on a bed of money.

Ken Levine: Why Irrational didn't do BioShock 2; What he thought of it

@KeithAsante Obviously he didn't but he also doesn't want to talk bad about another internal studio of the same company he works for. These answers were him being very diplomatic.

Naughty Bear gets free 'Episode 8' DLC today

Whoa, people bought this game? They also PLAY it?!

High Voltage Software lays off 25 employees [update]

Aug 4th 2010 7:09PM (Joystiq)
@blahblah55 High Voltage has been an extremely hit-or-miss developer as long as they've been around. It should be expected that they blow it big time from time to time. Sega's only real failing here, imo at least, is a marked ability for poor decision-making when it comes to both 3rd party developers they choose to work with and the 3rd party developed projects they choose to fund. Sometimes it works out (as with the Platinum Games partnership) but I think more often the result has been games like Alpha Proticol and Tournament of Legends that are a bad mark for both Sega and the developers involved.

Modern Warfare 2 demo finally hits Xbox Live

Aug 4th 2010 6:26PM (Joystiq)
@Courtney Same here. I played 3 briefly, but it was not as enjoyable as 2 was. After that I lost interest... especially seeing the way Activision has been behaving recently.

Alien Breed: Impact half price on Steam

Aug 4th 2010 5:26PM (Joystiq)
@sear uneducated mongrel! Alien Breed is based on Sega's Alien Syndrome... but really if we're talking history here the entire genre can be traced back to the first Gauntlet game. Even if you don't go back that far, Alien Breed was still a knock-off of Alien Syndrome. Now stop pretending you know of what you speak philistine!
