David, I usually love your commentaries. Unfortunately, I couldn't hear your impressions due to the sound mix on this video. I hope that a fixed version is made available as I was really looking forward to hearing your thoughts regarding Rondo of Blood.

Ask Joystiq Nintendo: Donkey Kong Generation Gap Edition

Apr 16th 2009 8:57PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Nintendo needs to release the original arcade version of Donkey Kong on Virtual Console Arcade. It would be even better as a WiiWare release with a leaderboard so that Wii owners could compete to be the virtual King of Kong!

Nintendo unleashes full Q1 schedule

Dec 17th 2008 3:07PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I agree that the list sucks. There's no way that they'll announce a new console within the next three or four years though. I say this because of the way that the Wii is currently selling. It's on track to become the best selling console of all time as it is outpacing the PS2. If Nintendo has any business sense whatsoever they will continue selling the standard Wii at $250 until sales start to drop quite a bit from their current levels. Perhaps we'll see them include Wii MotionPlus and Wii Sports Resort but I honestly don't think that they will announce a new console for a long time to come.

You say that all of their franchises have been used up already but that's not really true. First of all, we have yet to see Star Fox, Wave Race, F-Zero, Pilotwings, a true Wii Zelda, Kid Icarus, Yoshi's Island, Excitebike, Kirby, Duck Hunt, etc. Besides that, they could always make sequels to the games that have already been released.

That being said, I miss the glory days of looking forward to the likes of Galaxy, Zelda, Smash Bros., Kart, and Metroid.

Wii Warm Up: What Channel? The Photo Channel?

Oct 22nd 2008 10:27AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Seconded. I need all the space I can get on my Wii's internal memory. If Nintendo would get with the program and release a hard drive then I'd be fine with all of these extraneous non-gaming related channels. It's annoying that we aren't even given the option to remove them.

Wii Warm Up: Tempted by Rock Band 2 now?

Oct 16th 2008 9:08AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
If I had confidence that the SD card solution would work fluidly for downloadable content or if Nintendo had addressed the storage issue by releasing a hard drive that integrated with the Wii's OS then I would have been tempted by both Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero:World Tour on the Wii. As much as I love our little white system and will continue to support its original 1st and 3rd party offerings in the future, I've decided to purchase a PS3 for my music game needs.

Wii Warm Up: Worn around the edges

Oct 12th 2008 11:20AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I sometimes buy older games that have gone out of print. In that case there's really no choice but to buy used.
Other than that, I only buy used if the price for a used copy is a good amount less than the price of a new copy (at least 30% off).

I prefer to buy used from Amazon Marketplace, Ebay, or craigslist since those are the venues in which one can usually find the best prices. When I'm feeling the need for instant gratification, Gamestop is an option.
