Expect many more of these stories to pop up soon. A very good friend of mine who works at Sony (SOE) has been telling me for months *not* to buy a PS3, as overheating was the cause of the launch delay as well as the shortages (it is not the Blu-Ray drive as Sony has claimed). Going with an internal power supply was a mistake, but I guess Sony didn't want any "lol teh brick" criticism that the 360 received.
