Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet review: Black Hole Sun

Aug 1st 2011 1:31PM (Joystiq)
I, like many others have been waiting for around 2 years for this to materialize, couldn't be happier that i have wednesday off from work!

and to those saying 1200 moon dollars is too much, take this into account, the creators of this started the game in 2006, thats round about 5 YEARS of work, and you can't shell out a measely $15?

I find it fascinating that the last game Michel Gagne had played before he started working on this was Doom or Doom 2. His work in films is fantastic, and he has said now movies seem to pale in comparison to games due to the creative possibilities and interactivity games offer. I can only hope that means his art will make it into more games, just hope they don't take as long to surface.

how did nobody point out yet that it's got a 320GB hard drive...that seems more unusual than the console itself...

Splash Damage has said they will be launching a stats site similar to Halo soon, which WILL show you things like k/d ratio, etc.

I've played about 2 hours of this, both single-player and co-op and if you like team based games it's definitely a lot of fun, the SMART system is fun and everytime i climbed up something most games would let me fruitlessly run into i enjoyed it a little more.

get some friends, customize your ugly dude and enjoy.

give it!

yeah it's not just another class based shooter, i'm not sure if you watched the vid, but it's clearly first OR third person. And it's a persistent online world, not a canned scripted pile of bs like every other shooter.

gamers need to stop being such cynics, there are so many good games out there, if you aren't making the next best thing try to enjoy one that someone else is making, PLUS ITS FREE.

Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP for iPad - one of the coolest graphical/audio/humor mixes I've played in a long time.

And I got Arcania Gothic 4 from Steam for $12.50, so that too!

Busy weekend

Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP comes to iPad on Thursday

@geniuswithagun Generally i believe it has to do with shipping times and dates, wanting product to arrive before the release day, but not early enough that there's a huge chance of stores breaking street dates and selling over weekends before the game is supposed to be released. The music industry is the same way, almost all music releases on tuesdays as well.

but this is coming out thursday, not tuesday.

obiously a lot of my ideas about tuesday release dates isn't applicable towards digital content, but maybe it's just a pattern that has carried over to digital releases since everyone is used to it being that way.

just my $.02
